Whisky Reviews for Dailuaine 1974 SV
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.20 points
- Pretty decent stuff, uncomplicated profile.
I am full of cold so the nose appears quite restrained to me.
White wine, pear, pineapple and cream with a little wafer.
The alcohol speaks and it is quite sharp at first but then settles down
Its a little cardboard with hints of vanilla sweet desert wine and cream
Medium length and getting sweeter with icing sugar at the finish
- Old Dailuaine with a specific 'naked' profile. Interesting spirit driven Speysider.
Despite its age quite yeasty, rough and young. Like walking on the farm of my cousin in between the just harvested potatoes and strawballs. Cut grass. Some hay and lavender. Maltiness as well.
Lots of lemon zest now intermingled with cereal and grains. Kiwi's. Orange peel. Lime. Bitterness of pink grapefruit. Barley sugar. Sandal wood. A little ginger. Vicks and pine later on.
Long. Dry. Slightly bitter again. Liquorice in the aftertaste and a slight feeling of stout beer.
