    Colour: Pale gold.
Nose: Very dry, tarry, ashy and very smoky.
    Young.
Taste: Very salty, young, on sea water, iodine, tar and seaweeds.
Rather sweet. The finish is short to medium, ashy, smoky and tarry.
    General
Impression: A very smoky version of Kilchoma for the first version signed by the
    new distillery manager, John Maclellan.

  5. JacobaEd scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

Young, but good. Not ballanced but already complex. fruit en peat is tasteful in this whisky
    • Nose
Not a tipical Islay, low on peat. Fruity and a bit medicinal
    • Taste
Quit a surprice, young whisy but already a bit complex. Strong fruit and a bit of gras.. then the peat en spice
    • Finish
Quit strong, peat and quit long..

    Single Dram Note.
Transferring previous Note (2011.12.15) content into a Tasting Note.
    • Nose
chalk, cinamon, paper/cardboard, fresh capsicum, iodine, rubber, honey (82)
    • Taste
chalky sweetness, pear ester, talcum latex gloves, caramel & honey, next to iodine-y smoke (84)
    • Finish
nuts, earthy, salt & a sour note at the very end occasionally (81)

  7. Ivynor scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

From memory, it was pretty good. Below me for Laph 10, Ardbeg 10 or in the same range, the Kilchoman Autumn, but to regouter.
    • Nose
I did not find my notes of 2012, when in the Ferry to Islay, I tasted for the first time a kilchoman. But I have some memories.
The nose was very islay, peat and lemon, a little ash.
    • Taste
The mouth was quite powerful, oily, smoke, lemon and plants. A cross between Ardbeg 10 and Laphroaig 10 plus "raw"
    • Finish
Pretty long, peat, plants and sugar

  8. nc2malt did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Taken from bottle label, Dr. James Swan - Whisky Consultant
    • Nose
Peaty aromas and a complex blend of citrus, pear drops and vanilla.
    • Taste
An initial sweetness is followed by peat smoke and the mixed fruits.
    • Finish
Long, clean and sweet leaving hints of peat smoke.

  9. Malt Hans scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Smoky and fruity aroma, apple, linseed oil,

white chocolate, cloves and malt. Vanilla sweet and smoky taste, pepper,

eucalyptus, orange marmalade and malt. Long, smoky and malty end.

  10. Igor scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Water softens its robust constitution a little, makes it more delicate, pacifies the heat of it. But be careful - do not overdilute your dram, you may sink it as well.
    • Nose
Massively intense, richly flavoured, thick peat reek à la Big Peat. Corny, succulent, some rubber (plimsolls?), medicinal plaster, iodine, smoked oysters, grappa. Oh, boy! This is good.
    • Taste
Sharp, warm, with fleshy texture. Poignant citrus fruit, hot spices, vinegary, pungent sauce, almond oil, toasted cheese.
    • Finish
Of a long duration. Fervent, savoury, seaweed, briny, earthy, soy oil, peanut butter, limestone, biting citric zest, sea water, shrimps, a slice of lemon, orange chips.
