Despite the age, it's fresh and lively. Pleasant speyside notes with vivid spiceiness.
    • Nose
      88 88
Fresh and spicy. Honey, vanilla pudding, pineapple and citruses. Green flowers and freshly cut grass.
    • Taste
      89 89
Creamy, sweet, spicy. Honeyed peach, citruses, pepper and tannic oak.
    • Finish
      88 88
Long, creamy, sour, dry and spicy.

  2. St. Pauli scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

For a 36 year old, this is a very lively, fresh and fruity whisky. Not the most complex, but very tasty.
    • Nose
Deliciously fresh, you wouldn't say it's that old! It smells quite thick, malty and juicy. Danish pastry, creamy vanilla, pineapple, lemon and apricot. Behind this all, there is a restrained note of grass.
    • Taste
Deliciously full attack, rather sweet, thick and creamy, with a slight shift to a juicy and dry finale. It's in the same league as on the nose, although is the pineapple joined by juicy peach, and the malt is more honeyed. It fits perfectly well to the creamy part. Towards the end, some lemon zest and pepper join and deliver fresh bitterness.
    • Finish
Quite long, it keeps on returning with nice sour tones of fruit and lemon zest. Next to that, pepper and creamy, pastry-like malt.

  4. lincolnimp scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Considering its age in the cask this is still fresh and holds up well.
    • Nose
Seems more powerful than 47%, warm pastries like croissants, pineapple chunks, grapefruit, apple, smells quite light.
    • Taste
Creamy but with some bite from the alcohol, pineapple like the nose suggested, light moist Victoria sponge, and pastries plus plain crisps.
    • Finish
Not that long but its creamy and satisfying.
