Completely unidimensional, but for a demonstration of the grain side of a whisky, it's a nice demonstration! To savor pure, gently. Enthusiasm 4/5
    Whisky n ° 1341
    • Nose
Overpowering malt! Vanilla. Intense, but with the necessary roundness. Young and direct. The addition of water highlights his youth, which is not the best thing to do here.
    • Taste
      Ultra malty and intense.
    • Finish
At the risk of repeating myself: ultra intense on malt and vanilla.

I am not a big fan of
all those finishes and extra maturations, but when it is done well, we should
say so. It is done very well in this case.
    • Nose
      The nose is very soft
and sweet with a big dose of vanilla and even butterscotch. Floral elements as well. Buttercups and dried grasses.
The rum translates into wine gums
and grapefruit. I cannot shake the feeling that is shows traces of peat. Light
but pleasant nose. Water gives it an extra dimension of stable scents, which I
find to be very attractive in this case.
    • Taste
It is as sharp as a
Ninja sword and very salty (something I did not have on the nose). Needs water! That makes him slick and sweet. The rum is loud now. Apple, plum, citrus and a soft
      smoky streak.
    • Finish
      The finish is long
and sweet, with a bitter lining at the end. In the finish as well, a nice
      smokiness develops.

The finish is a little off, but not bad. I know a few people who don't
like this single cask because of this finish, but I can live with it,
even though I must admit I'm a bit dissapointed. I would have liked the
fruitiness to come back, but no such thing. Maybe a little orange... On the other hand, the finish delivers notes that aren't there on the palate, so it keeps things interesting.
    • Nose
Sour fruits (lemon, Lime), Wood, a bit of smoke.
    • Taste
Initial attack again the sour fruits, quickly pepper takes over. There's a little bitter note and some tannins. It's clearly there, but not over the top. a little Liquorice notes underneath it all.
    • Finish
Grassy, a bitter note, tannins, hardly any fruits. Very hot finish, even with water. Is the peat in here? Yes, I think there is. Not big though. Wait, after a while in the glass and with water, the peat slowly becomes more expressive.
