  1. Official tasting note

Black Bush Irish whiskey combines an exceptionally high amount of malt married with a sweet, small-batch grain whiskey, and then matured in former Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. This unique recipe means Black Bush has rich, fruity notes and a deep intense character, balanced by an incredibly unique smoothness. It’s best enjoyed neat, over ice, or in classic cocktails. The most seasoned of Irish whiskey drinkers know that you can’t beat Black Bush.

20Euro can buy this kind of performance, which is very good for me!
Slightly pricier than its old compatriot Jameson,
But it offers more of the fruity sweetness of sherry and a higher proportion of malt, and Jameson also has a distinctive cream cake aroma,
I think both are great and even though I usually drink single malt whiskey with the year marked, I still love them.

This whiskey has a very high proportion of malt.
The sweetness of the malt is the main factor, and it is matched with the sherry to create a very good aroma.
Although there is a slight alcohol taste,
But the mouth did not feel the irritation without alcohol.
I think the presented taste is almost like 8-10 years or so,
Product Name Key Oak Barrel Toasted Black,
In fact, I don't really feel much about the taste. It may be mixed with the sweetness of the former sherry barrels.
I think it's a great value for money, even more so than some shoddy vintage-marked whiskey.

The taste is 78 points, plus 2 points for the price, it is 80 points.

Ok, let's start the Bushmills line with a simple bottling. Not with the very simple 'original', but also with a blend. The Black Bush is triple distilled, has 40% vol. and should have a particularly high proportion of malt whiskey in addition to the grain. We're talking about 80%. The grain portion probably comes from the Midleton Distillery, since Old Bushmills only produces malt whiskeys. The whiskeys were matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso casks. A slightly more upscale blend that is available for under €20. Can that be good?

    • Nose
It is fruity on the nose, young, fresh and has floral Irish accents. There is also a slightly nutty-malty component. That's not bad at all. But there is also a metallic bitterness and some sharpness lurking in the background.
    • Taste
On the tongue it is soft and not at all that young and youthful sharp. The triple distillation has ensured Irish smoothness. Diffuse fruit with vanilla and caramel and malt, then comes a woody bitterness that remains tolerable, then it's gone. The aromas are relatively strong and are enhanced by the 40% vol. but clearly watered down.
    • Finish
Well, finish isn't that much there. But also no bitter or musty old wood notes.

You can get this whiskey for less than €20, it's a blend - and it's delicious, sweet and malty and easy to drink. You don't have to feel it for a long time and disassemble it, it's not complex. But you can drink it very well on the side and it is a nice Irish whiskey due to the triple distillation, the sherry share and a high single malt share. You can do it if you don't want malt for five times the price. And it's better than the Jamesons or Paddy's I've tried so far.

A strong taste of sherry on the nose, a bit of vanilla. It feels better on the nose than it tastes good, although for a blend it is very good.

Bushmills Black Bush lives from the volume and the dark sherry casks. 75% malt whiskey in this blend speaks for itself.
    • Nose
      81 81
      Mild, sherry, dark fruits.
    • Taste
      81 81
First sweet in the mouth, then it becomes oily and briefly some fruit appears.
    • Finish
      80 80
Miller-long to short finish, sherry again, light spiciness, fruit, very pleasant.

A great blend at a very low price. The best I've ever drunk up to € 25. Sweet, creamy with lots of fruit in the form of raisins and oranges, but also with a delicate peppery, which is the essence of the whole. Long, rich and expressive finish. A great whiskey that can be safely drunk solo. I recommend.
