Dunnage, red fruits but hard to discern, maybe a bit of rancio? I’m more on a sherried one here on the nose, but I’m not absolute about it. With water: the nose is more pepperish, fizzier.

Usual 1st fill sherry arrival, cinnamon, spices, red fruits, with a creamy mouthfeel. A bit of pepper too and dark chocolate. With water, the palate gets drier and fruitier, with more oak as well. I think it swims very well.
    • Finish
      89 89
      Long on sherry oak spices.

The unique flavor of Japanese whisky, moderately strong flavor of alcohol, berry, spice, a little sharp body, the bitter taste of wood from the aftertaste

It's an overwhelming sherry bomb that is best served on rock. The barley used in this was dried with peat.

    In my pre-historical scoring method, it's 8.5/10.
    • Nose
      SHERRY, oily, new leather
    • Taste
Punchy at first due to the abv. Then nutty and sweet fruit.
    • Finish
Short. Sherry continues to dominate the entire experience. Mildly smoky and woody. Wrapped up with a touch of bitterness from tannin.

Eyes: Orange, gold and smell. Nose: Raspberry, cherry sauce, a very strong roasting smell, and a slightly rough multigrain bread. Wake up for a while, more sweet jam and cream snacks appear.
Taste Palate: cream, raspberry jam, butter shortbread, charred charcoal, caramel, followed by a lot of nuts, the aroma of toasted grains and some spices.
Finish: long, oak, jam, cream cake Body: medium body, oily, with some tannins

    Nose: 86/100
    Palate: 86/100
    Finish: 86/100
    Body: 86/100
Overall: 86/100, thicker Shirley flavor. Compared with the typical dark fruit bomb, this grain has a stronger feeling.

Sherry, sherry... and again sherry. First kinda reminded me on the Kavalan 2019 Solist Port (Cask 0111118040A, 7 y/o, 18.11.2011, bottled in 23.04.2019), which is an outstanding and very sweet Single Malt as well. The Yoichi S&S, however, is not as complex. I disagree about the "sour" element. I mainly perceive sweet fruits, berries here and there. The finish shows some mild bitter notes. Definitely made for those interested in Sherry bombs. For me, a standard dram within my Sherry repertoire.

N- Full, classic sherry with leathery smokes, dark fruits, prunes,
resinous tree sap, almost like plasticine and rubbery, fresh wood
    shaving.

P- Tree sap, fragrant of young green mango without the
punchy sourness, raisin, sweet smooth custard at the back. Masterfully
    balanced and pleasing.

F- Medium, pickled oriental ginger, a solid malt with bits of vanilla.

    — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

More appropriately titled, "Sherry and Sweet & Sour."

    I'm not complaining...

A punchy dram that has an unusual red-fruit/citrus-fruit mix, with red grapes, blood orange and red grapefruit and a puckery sourness that lingers on the fairly long finish which eventually sees some woodspice.

It lacks the sophistication of the single cask bottlings, but it is a sort of sherry bomb, so on theme!
