    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

    1 of only 224 bottles from cask no. 800019

    A harvest gold with little-to-no beading – to be expected in one so young. At Adelphi, we always try to seek out and bottle the casks that offer exceptional flavours, no matter how young or old, and this is no exception. Hessian potato sacks, Physalis, steam trains, licorice, aniseed, dentist’s mouthwash, fennel and a delicate thread of smoke on the nose. A lovely, creamy texture really surprises with more Hessian, and a delightful sweetness. The addition of water brings coal smoke, chewing gum, and Primula smoked ham in a tube. This converts well into the taste with more smoked ham and a buttery, full flavour and texture and a slight medicinal mintiness in the finish. A truly unique and interesting whisky.

    Not mind blowingly good, but very interesting, to say the least.
    • Nose
      Fresh from the bottle: old hemp/jute bag/cloth +, dry hay +, the elephant house in a zoo/circus o, white pepper o/- , unripe peeled fruits - , pollywog / Kaulquappe - (wtf ? small, dark green & slimey...),

      With some air: artificial vanilla esther o, tobacco-pouch o,

      with water: a few plastic-y notes o, yeast dough ?
    • Taste
      hay & earth, a bit of eycalyptus, prickly, liquid (bitter) sweet vanilla baking extract,

      with water: (sweet) licorice +, pu-erh & yasmin tea o, chocolate -,
    • Finish
      medium long, pricklyness gets the upper hand and prevails in the end unfortunately.

      with water: pricklyness is gone & finish feels shorter, also feels 'cold' now although the water was room-temperature, sweetness feels more present but also bit thin & unsubstantial/artificial.
