Exciting, not 100% convinced, but feel free to add water if you like lemon notes, it changes incredibly strongly
    • Nose
Vinous, salty, dry light smoke, grassy, overall quite dry, slightly dark chocolate, reveals the aromas rather cautiously, over time cocoa is added, waffle biscuit, the fruity note could be an unripe apple, occasional acid flashes
Spicy with water, pepper, but not in the sense of sharpness, also caramel
    • Taste
Intense smoke, creamy, sweet, chocolate, nuts, the waffle biscuit here too, a bit harsh, vinous, also sulphur, sour, citrus, actually a lot of lemon, if you let it work properly, the second sip is better
Creamier with water, almost sticky, a lot more citrus, hardly any chocolate and nut left, a completely different whisky in the mouth, you can find the chocolate again if you focus on it, but the lemon boost is quite remarkable
    • Finish
Getting drier, the smoke is only slightly noticeable as ash, still creamy, apple
Finished off with water, tart with lemon, actually quite pleasant

    From a blind sample.
Thin and fast legs so I could guess it was young, yet I didn't imagine this was 5yo - impressive.
My guess was wine cask Port Charlotte, 8-10 yo.
    Well done!
The nose is really impressive, too bad the palate and finish do not deliver.

Medium-short length, dries quickly, wet wood, cardboard, wet ground, bandages, a bit sweet.

A nice young everyday dram. Clearly pleasant peat smoke mixed with red wine notes, reminiscent of young peated Bunnahabhain from such barrels. Not a complexity monster, but easy to drink. A snapper for a handfill for 55 GBP in the still

with water: the malt screams for water, so we do not save it. He also tolerates a lot of water without the New Make side getting out of hand.

Conclusion: He needs hand warmth and a lot of water. In itself, the combination peat and red wine works quite well here. However, he is still too young for me, except for peat smoke and red wine, he has nothing to offer that would have been allowed to remain in the barrel for a few more years.
    • Nose
Powerful, earthy peat and red wine immediately puff you in the nose, carried by the very strong 60.4% alcohol, behind it hide a few vanilla and biscuit aromas, even the malty / mineral Brennereicharakter comes through easily. However, some New Make notes, which give him a fruity component, but overall, he looks too young
    • Taste
bämm, the young strong alcohol packs immediately, followed by peat and red wine, the alcohol is too strong for me
    • Finish
Here again the very young age comes into play, the finish is very short, only the peat lasts a little longer in the mouth
