Invergordon 1990 - 2021, 30 years, 54.3%. Bottler: 3006 Whiskey (3W). Expansion: Bourbon cask No. 22604 (barrel)
Nose: Lots of dry and slightly spicy grain, seems a bit coarse at first. There is also a mixture of superglue, paste and vanilla, as well as some peach and pear compote. With time in the air, the Invergordon becomes more and more moderate, the intensity fades and the fruit aromas become clearer. Some mango and a hint of Mirabelle plums.
Palate: Very sweet, very intense and mouth-filling. Seems creamy at first and quickly becomes very dry. Pears, vanilla, apple peel and almonds, with walnuts and a hint of chocolate. Some bitter gooseberry comes along with caramel, then pepper in oatmeal.
Finish: Long, dry, the glue reappears along with the vanilla. A clearly bitter affair at the back.
Conclusion: A quite intensive representative of the distillery, in addition to the fruit some rough edges - entertaining. 84/100 points (2022).
