Very complex but takes a lot of time!
1:15 hours we took our time in a leisurely round.
The best Glendronach I've had in my glass to date!
    Definitely an old school malt.
    • Nose
Old barrel cellar, furniture polish, candied fruits, berry jam, roasted hazelnuts to marzipan, mocha notes, marzipan but also a certain acidity that I interpret as the pulp of an orange and Christmas spices ...
    • Taste
Very creamy if not silky .. Extreme salivation .. Drying out on the palate .. Candied dark fruits, orange pulp, Christmas punch / mulled wine, mocha notes, berry compote .. Very nice transitions of the aromas while I had it in my nose again at the same time ..
    • Finish
Long finish .. Mocha notes, Christmas spices with candied fruits

A dark amber dream. Very fruity with a long finish. The alcohol is very well integrated.

This is my first handfilled from Glendronach, which I filled myself on site on my birthday and which comes from the year I was born. He is exactly 27.5 years old to the day. £ 410 is a sharp increase in price from past handfills, but it's a stunner.

Nose: the 52% are imperceptible, candied cherries and cooked grape jam, a mintiness that I usually only know from the 70s Strathisla, punch spices, leather and an old wine cellar. Plum jam then also spreads in the nose.

Palate: the distillate is gentle, oily and almost reserved on the tongue. There is no spirit punched with wine here in the glass, no, here we have a real sherry whisky, not finished, has been in a single Oloroso barrel for 27.5 years. From raspberry jelly to strawberry liqueur to orange peel, everything can be found again. Cinnamon and orange cloves are added. The oak is clearly noticeable, but instead of being bitter, it appears in the form of a wonderful spice cake at Christmas time.

Finish: caramelized pistachios, fudge, 50% cocoa chocolate, vanilla buttercream and a cherry ragout that takes on tropical traits a la sweet pineapple.

Edit: take a long time for the malt. Wet the whole glass up to the edge and try to take it apart, here you can easily smell it for hours and always discover something new!

An incredible malt! Extremely rich, more than convincing distillery character and a really great barrel. Super smooth and heavy, great rich nose with candied prunes and maple syrup. Long, soft finish and extremely well integrated alcohol. An absolute highlight of this great distillery. Abbr
