The quality of this whisky is worth half the price they ask for this youngster.
Too much alcool is felt on the nose and palate.
    No peat to hide behind.
It gets better when you sample it later in a tasting so thats why my 85 score.

It seemed to me unnecessarily inky, with an excess content of sulfur and other chemical compounds that I personally do not favor, aerosol, cotton candy. From pleasant to me there were smells of the swampy area, but this is already when the sulfur receded. Prunes, dried apricots and dried apples fell on this profile not as usual, but stale in the warmth, fermented.

Magnificent whisky! It lies very pleasantly in the mouth, there are a lot of sulphurous and sherry notes on the palate, and the nose is varied and very difficult to recognize the structure.
There is some disproportionality of the components in taste, raisins take on a lot.

    • Nose
Lacquer, salted tomatoes, thinner, marzipan, cloves, chocolate, burning of lemon peel, cloves and hot peppers, sulfur, berry cream, vanilla, cheese, perfumes.
Smoke-dried dried fruits open with water
    • Taste
Sweet and warm, very sulphurous like sherry, a lot of raisins (100 out of 100), dry, astringent, almost no strength is felt, or rather it is very conveniently located in the mouth, bitter tones of wormwood and fireweed, chocolate, sourness of lemon, skin, dried maple leaves, extraordinary bitterness of various tannins.
Dried dried fruits open with water
    • Finish
Lots of raisins, grapevine tannins, woodiness

with water: the berries come out better, a few drops won't hurt at all

Conclusion: an incredibly fat and intense malt that takes time and then really enjoys. A little tip: Don't try it as the first malt in a line up, but only at the end when your taste buds are really there - boom! Who says good whisky has to be old.
    • Nose
very intense with a deep sweetness, nuts, dried fruits change with red fruits, very well integrated alcohol, some tobacco and leather at the end, a little salt, blackberries and forest honey can also be found
    • Taste
Supple on the tongue, thick, sweet, opulent, red fruit is more obvious here, nut, tobacco, leather, raisins, some pepper and wood
    • Finish
long, and again very intense, plum, fig, blackberry, salt and dry wood

The sherry (PX?) Outweighs the port barrel, but is not too penetrative. A successful mix of the two barrel types.

The finish was best of this dram, I think an hour after the last zip I can still taste it. For a 10 year old well done. I see the prices asked for this bottle on the right of the screen. No sorry, I will not pay that much for this whisky.

Time and water suggested. Would almost say it NEEDS water! First couple sips were not good, neck pour as well. I was ready to give this an 82 or something, but the more I've sat with it now the better each sip gets.

Definitely not worth the price, to be fair. Only for Bunna die hards, I would say.

Open for about a week now, not a fan of most whisky neck pours. This has become much nicer. Nose is caramel, sweet cigar or more like tobacco leaf, damp forest berries, blueberry and redberry jam smashed together, quality chocolate, a little salt to round it out. Nuts are present as well. Overrall, sweet yet earthen.
    • Taste
      84 84
Cinnamon and other spices, along with red fruit that becomes quite tangy in the middle. Almost like cranberry sauce, definitely less tart though. There is a lot of intensity coming from all the wine casks used, water is definitely suggested. More salty on the palate than the nose for sure, it kind of prevents it from being pulled in all sorts of directions. Darker chocolate as well, almost like the first time you ever had high percentage cacao for the first time....after the first few sips it settles down, but it still is very present. Toasted nuts with cinnamon, but no sugar. This is a bit more bitter I find than one might expect given the casks used. Almost like a mole sauce, or like a balsamic vinaigrette. More like the vinaigrette, but minus the real vinegar (not offputting). After a few sips now and with some time it's settle down. Def not one to just take a sip or two and then pass judgement.
    • Finish
      88 88
Long and tannic. The dark cacao note just lingers, later becomes very earthy and "dirty". Think Edradour...if i had this blind I would probably take it for that given this! Still salt, but less here than anywhere else. 5 minutes later it's still going, the finish here is quite impressive if you enjoy longer ones.

Nose: a mix of leafy notes and coastal elements, with wild strawberries and blackberry jam, caramel and faint whiffs of peonies. Peppery notes. Dark hints of treacle in the background. Also roasted nuts and worn leather, as well as a subtle (not unpleasant) hint of matchstick heads.

Mouth: hot and peppery, quite hard to discover the rest. Bittersweet winey notes, musty wood and more of the roasted nuts. Hints of dark chocolate and grapes, mixed with hints of soy sauce and briney notes. Sweeter and slightly more balanced with a drop of water.

Finish: fairly long, peppery, with a sour edge and ilngering dark chocolate.

A whisky that is not entirely convincing, with a firm roasted fingerprint and an obvious winey side. Toning down the heat makes it a lot more enjoyable, but the price is too high in my opinion.
