A typical old grain nose, some fruit, vanilla and cream.

Some peach and peach skin on the nose, this smells really sweet.

This really does remind me of sugared almonds, mixed with pecan pie and something very sweet and metallic.

Its nice enough and I know old grains are raved about this just does not have the complexity like an old single malt does or an old behind for that matter.
Absolutely nothing wrong with it just a little one dimensional taste wise.
This actually tastes like some straight bourbons I have tried yet it is much lighter in colour?

Despite it's old age it's not too complex and deep grain, but not bad.
    • Nose
Citruses, glue, honey, vanilla, fruits and spicy oak.
    • Taste
Creamy and bittersweet. Vanilla, citruses, Verbena candies, milk caramel, spicy oak and glue.
    • Finish
      Medium length, sour, bitter.

Because of his age, I also had (perhaps) too high expectations of this whiskey. He was perfectly good, but I did not get the real 'wow' feeling. The sweetness in the smell and taste was delicious, but the acidity that I got in the taste disturbed the balance a bit.
    • Nose
Initially a lot of glue, velpon. Later: Sweet, candy / chewing gum, citrus, vanilla, honey.
    • Taste
Full, creamy. Sweet, vanilla, candy. But also a somewhat sour undertone, which I do not quite agree with. There is also an occasional glue taste along.
    • Finish
Pretty long, sweet with that sour undertone again. Glue, in the end leaning towards something bitter. Very warming.

    • Nose
Very aromatic. Sweet, lots of glue, but it slowly disappears into the background. A little woody bitterness underneath.
    • Taste
Sweet. Little right in the beginning, later more complex. Tears against sharp. Creamy and full.
    • Finish
      Medium

    Nose:
Certainly needs 45 min - 60 min. Super spicy for a grain. Another sweet as in all other grains, caramel and toffee and a light fruit / citrus, which in itself is crazy considering the age

    Taste:
Little Glenlivet '97 vW / SV in terms of spiciness. Good wood, vanilla and bacon (the candy variant not the meat version).

    Body:
    Full enough!

    Finish:
Aaaaha, here comes the grain up. Classic grain with bread wood, vanilla, toffee and gumballs. Later a somewhat less pleasant bitterness

    Comments:
The bitterness in the finish makes it 89 points otherwise certainly 90. Incidentally, it does not fall for a single malt!
