    • Nose

Vanilla, ripe honeydew melon, peardrops, Haribo sugar bananas, canned tangerine, sweet and cakey, some slight dusty nutmeg note at the back.
    • Taste
      83 83
Light, sweet, fruity and honied. Pear, melon, tangerine, foam banana candy, vanilla, caramel, fruit cake, a subtle white pepper and some wood dust in the background.
    • Finish
      84 84
Short to medium: vanilla cake, honey, pear, sweet and bitter citrus, pear, a nicely fading and mildly drying wood note.

  7. ThorstenH scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Plenty of pear on the nose, some alcohol spiciness with fruit in the mouth. Likewise in the exit.

  9. Cask1988 did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Glencadam, an unusual suspect in the world of whisky for me personally. The more reason I had to jump in an initiative on ‘het whisky forum’ which resulted in 8 different styles and ages of this distillery! Thank you Freezeroz! Let’s try this 10yo entry Cadam to start with..
    • Nose
That’s a friendly and pleasant nose. Apricot, a whiff of banana candy and citrus like lime. White grapes and some sour apple. This is fruit, fruit and… fruit! Mild spices in like nutmeg and wee whiff of fennel giving a finishing touch. An accessible summertime nose! The longer it’s inside the glass the more buttery it becomes.
    • Taste
Accessible and smooth. Again several fruits like stated above but also quite some vanilla, fudge and butterscotch that comes with it. Balanced, smooth and again perfectly fit for every summer night.
    • Finish
More citrus fruits in the finish. Also vanilla and honey pops. Quite some sour flavors and also buttery flavors.

This is a very decent entry level whisky and more then fit to open any random whiskynight.

Great PLV. Very tasty and made great for 10 years.

    • Nose
      84 84
Alcohol marker, warm pears, sour apples, lime juice, a meadow with daisies and buttercups.
    • Taste
      83 83
Lime, pears, white grapes, sour apples, honey and pepper.
    • Finish
      81 81
medium length. The aftertaste is drying, sour and somewhat bitter.

The whisky is not bad, but I find it a bit too sour, especially in the aftertaste.

  14. Defeatless scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

An entry level young whisky. There could have been used more active casks, this is a bit underage imho. Price-quality wise.... a standard Glenlivet is more tasty, this is a different dram.
    • Nose
      83 83
Little sour citrus, some honey, some freshness. Not your typical speysider, but it certainly has it's notes.
    • Taste
      82 82
Little thin, more sour then sweetness. Some young wood. Not much to complain, not much outstanding either.
    • Finish
      82 82
Medium length. Again the sourness of the citrus shows up. Little bitter note in the end.

    • Nose
      83 83
Reminiscent of single grain, pears, sour cherries, later nice maltiness is added
    • Taste
      84 84
      Powerful, apples, maltiness, oak spice
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium - short, slightly bitter, dry at the end

    • Taste
      78 78
Light to start, fresh fruit, crisp green apple, pepper, fizzy, vanilla, biscuit, malted barley
    • Finish
      72 72
tinned pineapple, sherbert lemon, a little dry wood, a hint of liquorice

This was a sample courtesy of Peatbogger.
As Peatbogger says it is a decent dram for a decent price.
It's not pulling up trees but as summer drams go it would be nice to have handy.
    • Nose
      84 84
I think I've just walked into a sweet shop and I've just bought a bag of banana foam.
And we are talking pear drops and rhubarb and custard.
Custard cream biscuits, felt tip pen and water colour paint.
It really is quite extraordinary that whisky can so differ and that is why we love it.
    • Taste
      85 85
I was expecting it to be just like sucking on a boiled sweet but there is a bit more to it.
Sweet and spicy and that balance is good.
Some woody notes and they are new.
It is not as bananary as the nose was but it is there.
There is also some grape and melon.
    • Finish
      82 82
The finish just lets it down a little, it is quite short but I'm not going to punish it because there are no bum notes.

    Light and easy whisky.
Simple but honest, good value for money.
    • Nose
      85 85
      Slightly citiric white wine.
      Sweet, vanilla wood.
      Simple but fresh and delicate.
    • Taste
      87 87
Arrives with a close to neutral texture.
      Banana and sweet yellow fruits.
Light bitterness on the arrival of the spice but it doesn't last long.
Peppery spicy builds. Not hot, but pleasantly warming.
    • Finish
      85 85
      Medium length.
Sugar sweetness, ripe banana with spices fading.

One of the better cheap standard distillery bottlings, unchilfiltered, natural color and 46%…. As it should be, a beautiful nominee in the OSWA's… a top whisky for this age
    • Nose
Citrus, freshly cut grass, hay, and a little spice from the barrel with sweet bourbon notes of tropical fruit, banana! mango peach and pears
    • Taste
Soft entrance, nice development of citrus and sweetness (pears and banana) and spiciness
    • Finish
The finish is slightly dry and short, with barley notes and spices

    Feels very young overall, alcoholic
    • Nose
Citrus and lots of fruit, slightly grassy, sweet, fresh, alcoholic
    • Taste
Sweet, flowery, then it slowly becomes spicier, almost peppery
    • Finish
medium length, some sharpness remains in the mouth

Glencadam 10 years, 46% alc. Original bottling. Expansion: Bourbon barrels

Nose: fruity citrus aromas, limes and grapefruit, fresh and slightly tart apples, pear compote and dry cedar wood, hay meadow.

Palate: malt, muesli and lemon juice, passion fruit and pineapple. This is accompanied by pleasant oak aromas and a little pepper. There is also a little peppermint to be found.

Finish: Long and dry, carries on like on the palate. The oak picks up a little more speed, pepper and tobacco complement the fruity notes.

Conclusion: The character of Glencadam goes wonderfully with bourbon barrels, a really strong bottling - despite the fact that it is only 10 years old. The distillery did everything right here. 86/100 points (2021)

Palate: foam bananas and mangosteen, golden syrup
    Finish: chalk and weetabix
