  1. HammerHead scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

2 drams out of a half empty bottle which has been opened for more than a year.

Pretty decent; the low ABV however makes the experience somewhat thin. The nose has got a nice ripe fruitiness to it (oranges, peach and sultana's) with some woody spiciness. The taste is a watered down version of the nose (a bit flat) with an understated finish, which is woody with some vague sweetness.

Excellent value for money entry NAS. Young, but the way is good.
    • Nose
      78 78
Fruits, especially apples and pears. Sherry and flowers. Walnut and cooking oil.
    • Taste
      78 78
In addition to sweet fruits, the oak comes nicely, which is surprisingly pleasant at 40% ABV.
    • Finish
      77 77
      Medium length, sweet, spicy, woody.

  3. Mr.Edradour scored this whisky 77 points Connoisseur

Surprisingly good and complex for a very cheap NAS whisky, which is probably extremely young.

  4. DrinkingWhisky scored this whisky 81 points Expert Senior

Looks like a young whisky which makes it a bit raw (no polished edges), but tasty. Tasted 29/03/2015.
    • Nose
Grain and barley (barley) in the nose. Apples and hints of raisin.
    • Taste
Nice and spicy; vanilla, and the granite also returns to taste. Little creamy texture.
    • Finish
      Short aftertaste.

  5. Magnus Hillman scored this whisky 76 points Expert Senior

Not really impressive even considering the low price, there are several blends in the same price range that I would go for before this. There are flavors in the whisky but they don't stand out and compete with the distilled spirit. The roughness increase as the volume of the bottle goes down. Don't wait too long before emptying the bottle if opened,

    • Nose
Light and soft apple cider vinegar, barley spirit, grappa, wet paper, and marsipan, is followed by saw dust and could it be hints of corn maybe?
    • Taste
Sweet and sour is combined on the palate with white pepper, red apples and some salt, again very bright and the youth of the spirit really comes forward. After water, the sweetness increase and some light smoke appear as well as notes of chili and unripe melon.
    • Finish
the finish is short to medium with pepper, vanilla and basset wine gums, the yellow ones.

Yeah, well, this is not a bad whisky, but it is a small Glenfarclas.
Around 25 EUR although I have no idea where you would be able to get your hands
    on one in Belgium.
    • Nose

The nose is very light and grainy and needs quite a bit of time and hand
warmth to express itself. Barley and oats. Slightly oily and ever so slightly
fruity with peaches in the distance. A hint of metal polish. So far, not the go
    • Taste

On the palate, things change for the better. Creamy, spicy and sweet.
Some vanilla, hazelnuts, a touch of oak. Very sweet, though. And again quite
      grainy. The oats return.
    • Finish

The finish is drying and fairly long. A hint of coffee on the deathbed.

  7. ffmdino did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

a very simple and simple malt
    • Nose
      Malt, green note, tart wood
    • Taste
      light, thin
Malt, vanilla, grassy notes, soap-perfume notes, a little prickle, a bit of cardboard comes up
    • Finish
slightly spicy, minimal glue, a little caramel

  8. LinXcze scored this whisky 77 points Member Junior

Simple, easy drinking young sherry dram. Nothing to write home about, but given the price tag it goes for, nothing to scoff on either.

As far as NAS bottling goes, this one falls into "This is the way" category.
    • Nose
      79 79
Young sherry, malty, dried fruits, citrus, woodiness, hint of milk chocolate.
    • Taste
      75 75
Honey sweet, vanilla, caramel, pear, orange peel.
    • Finish
      77 77
Fairly lingering given the ABV, it's zesty and peppery.

Lighter, daily dram to match spring. Not complex or complex.
Interesting nose with fruit, simple in taste and quick on the finish.
