  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

A very fruity Glenkinchie which in my view lacks a certain depth for its 20 years of age.
    • Nose
Very clean. Sweet barley, green apples and melon. Later on more vanilla and oaky notes.
    • Taste
Quite sharp. Hot and a little bit peppery. Citrus fruit and lots of lemon. Sorrel.
    • Finish
In particular the lemon remains for a long time. Zesty. Bitter-sweetness. Not completely in balance.

Pleasant whisky from Lowland, though I wait a bit matured.
    • Nose
Citruses, honey and malt. Grass, earth and herbals. Spicy oak. Mixed fruit jam.
    • Taste
Powerful and creamy. Vanilla, ginger, orange peel, honey and waxy fruits. Cheese.
    • Finish
      Long, spicy.

Light to medium-bodied. This whisky is not especially complex, especially in the finish which is a bit lacking in my book - but there are so many great smells and flavours present that it is quite an enjoyable whisky in the end.
    • Nose
Lemon, fruity crème brûlée, baked apple and cinnamon, grassy floral notes, quite assertive but pleasant presence of oak, a hint of light honey infused with fruit juices, a bit herbal, cream, earthy, strawberry jam, lightly roasted and mild malt, sweet liquorice and minerals.
    • Taste
Light tobacco, lemon, cream, vanilla, roasted malt, honey/nectar, unburnt peat, minerals and fruits.
    • Finish
Shortish in length - vanilla, mellow oak, roasted barley, fresh peat, floral nectar and fruits.

With a little water, it is clearly more effective and dominated by the sharp, spright-like alcohol content gives way to the fruity notes. For 20 years in the barrel, however, he offers too little.

  8. Malt Hans scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Fruity and reluctant aroma, lemon, vanilla, cloves, malt and dry hay. Marzipan sweet taste, pepper, anise, ripe banana, ripe orange, vanilla and malt. Long, fruity, malty and herbal end.
