Whisky Reviews for Dalwhinnie 1992
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.86 points
Fresh sherry, oaky notes, sweet honey, malt, vanilla and peaty smoke.
Sweet and creamy malt, spiced and honey sweetness. Herbal, spiced and fruity. Light, medium body and some oak bitterness.
Dry medium finish with more bitter oak and malt vanilla.
Dry rosé wine, slightly fruity. Some sand, dry earth, wild herbs.
Fruity with a light spiciness. Nutty and dry.
- I am very positively surprised, of both, I remembered more like "lala", wrongly. "Qualitatively" I would not make any difference, in 1992 I personally have more.
1992 = Restschluck from a bottle open about 1 year, 1997 = fresh.
Direct comparison 1992/2010 vs. 1997/2014:
both fruity sweet, fairly straightforward and open, you do not have to look far for flavor
1992: a Haribo-Bärchen-touch, quite "juicy, red / black berries, cherries, with a pinch of cinnamon
1997: rather light fruits (compote), peach, apricot, pear, creamy, but also a slightly dry wood color
there are again the gummy bears, 1992 red & orange (strawberry, raspberry), 1997 yellow and white (pineapple, pear, a little citrus), with two creamy sweetness, caramel, milk chocolate, wood / bitterness only very subtle, 1997 something spicy / spicy comes
medium long, sweet, slightly spicy, strangely comes here in 1997 a bit milder
