A very successful, fruity whisky, just to my taste.

    --- blind tasting ---
    • Nose
      89 89
A juicy fruit compote is the same in the glass, a light sting of the alcohol makes it clear that this whisky would be bottled slightly more. I find peach liqueur, grape juice, pears and orange blossom honey. A slightly spicy and "dusty" note indicates the longer maturation.
    • Taste
      90 90
Initially less sweet than expected. The peach is back soon, now it is sweet, a nice spice joins, oak but no bitterness, milk chocolate. The alcohol is very well integrated, but gives properly volume. Very intense, delicious!
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium length - creamy, slightly sweet fruit and milk chocolate.

The mangoes and pineapples are definitely the winner in this one. Nose and palate are both great. Such a lovely whisky bottled at the perfect Abv.
    • Nose
Tropical fruits, an abundance of fresh ripe mango and pineapple slices. Malty undertones and some delicate shavings of oak.
    • Taste
Big fat and sticky, the delicious tropical fruit from the nose is at the forefront of this palate. Quite a bit of wood spice coming through, peppery and tingly.
    • Finish
Here are the flowers lying on top of malt and oak. Light with medium length in finish.

beautiful fruity Bourbon barrel paints - although I'm not so sure, if there were not synonymous Sherryscasks in the game.
    • Nose
honey-sweet exotic fruits, peach, apricot, orange, melon, lemon zest and citrus oil, malt and sawdust - even wood dust that floats in the air, marzipan, bitter almond, herbaceous herbal seasoning
    • Taste
Honey on oranges and lemon peel, mint, oak, laurel, vanilla and freshly beaten, still juicy wood, very nice texture, oily, smooth, somewhat syrupy - looks valuable
    • Finish
Vanilla and fruity sweetness, birch sap, astringent with delicate herbal bitterness

  12. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

It was surprisingly good, I expected the worst; the aroma is absolutely magnificent, the taste, of course, sags, but in general the impressions are positive - they say live and saturated, much more interesting than the standard 18YO
    • Nose
Fresh, dense, raw oak, a scattering of honey and flower shades, lemon peel, orange, mandarin, kumquats, vanilla, various notes of exotic fruits, again an oak with light grain tones, sweet wool - very deep and rich.
    • Taste
Fresh, malt-oak on sweet honey substrates, exotic fruits, tangerines and vanilla; Confectionery notes, toffee; not bad, but inferior to the fragrance, there are already visible flaws, some sharpness, inappropriate bitterness.
    • Finish
Warm, creamy, melted milk, orange peel, tangerines, compote of exotic fruits, pleasant oak tartness.

Something different from Glenlivet. Somewhat one-dimensional, very citrusy and sweet, but I like that. So thumbs up and price (65 € 2017) is right.
    • Nose
bright yellow fruits, honey melons with vanilla, lemon cake
    • Taste
      sweet immediately, lemon drops
    • Finish
short, sweet, lemon, quite a bit milk chocolate removed

    • Nose
Ripe bright fruits, sweet honey. Freshly sawn wood, flowers, vanilla. Raisins, subtle spices.
    • Taste
Honey sweetness, a little peach. Nutty, slightly peppery with some ginger.

    A very balanced, fruity-fresh malt.
Every time I put my nose in the glass, I had to think of sweet, fruity sparkling wine. In the first moment surprisingly getting used to, in the second convincing tasty and interesting.
Grapes and peaches were very clear for me in front, with longer Verriechen very light vanilla in the background.
Wonderfully soft and round on the palate, medium length on the finish, lemony and finally honey sweet.

Nose: Complex, tropical fruit, fresh cut herbs, mint, lemon and orange toffee sweets.

Initial taste: Citrus, sweets yet quite hard edged. Water only deludes does not make much improvement.

    Body: Medium-heavy, some oilyness.

Finish: medium-long. The harshness of the spirit is lingering on. Not very pleasant, in the background there is some citrus and fruit.

Price: well as it is a bit of an odd whisky, but I don't like it, I don't know what to say about it.

Presentation: Just as Glenlivet always is: decent.

Comments: Just smell that's the best part of it.

    • Taste
Sweet orange, surprisingly creamy and firm as whipped foam , silky
    • Finish
Long, a hint of licorice fragrant, dry.

  24. mmaclean did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

"A vintage edition of the hugely popular Glenlivet Nadurra. This special

version has been made with a single barley variety, Triumph (hence the

name), and has been composed exclusively using malt from the 1991

vintage, bottled at 48%. As with other Nadurras, this Glenlivet has

    been neither coloured nor chill-filtered."
