Nice, maybe the finish is a tad to too bitter. This is how I imagine a Talisker at higher peated level. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/07/29/alle-port-charlotte-teil-1/

    SMWS Tasting Notes

The smoky, herbal nose brought tears to our eyes. It also had mineral and maritime notes, with heather, bacon, cornflakes and tar. The unreduced palate was fierce - sweet, tarry, herbal and meaty; smoke and flames danced diabolically on our tongues ('burnt botanicals' and incinerated toast). The reduced nose still required caution - violets, pine, patchouli and other 'hippy fragrances', with freshly laid tar - 'the Road to Kathmandu' suggested one panellist. The reduced palate remained huge - tar, smoke, burnt flowers and dark sweetness (chocolate and liquorice fudge) - tooth-stripping, but with great personality. Supposedly a 'medium-peated' version of distillery 23 - Heaven help us!

  3. Sonett scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

This is a good dram for real men with hair on their chest. Still I would have loved to see what another 8 years would have done with this barrel
    • Nose
Peaty nose going in the direction of cigar ash. Green herbs, asparagus, vanilla and malt
    • Taste
Entering the bout mild and sweet then increase in spices then turning over to peat
    • Finish
medium long but strong before drying off
