All in all a great malt that just missed the 90s, because the alcohol notes can be felt in all areas with water.
But truly a malt with character.
Alcohol is immediately noticeable. But then dark cherries combined with dark chocolate. In addition a certain seasoning. And something towards mahogany wood. It takes time, then there is leather and walnut.
It evolves with water. More towards raisins, plums and cinnamon. Great and beautifully complex.
A sweetness spreads. It stays with the cherry and plum. Goes in the direction of this plum liqueur from the Chinese restaurant, but clearly accompanied by a strong flavor.
The wort is still very present. Likewise the alcohol notes (also with water). Plus plum, a noticeable dryness and licorice.
