    The last drops of Armin's bottle have been sipped.
    Something to tame snow leopards ... !

    Yes ... one of the best to us!

    I did not really know what to write because words are not appropriate while celebrating this wonder-dram.

    Just classic, verry mature, strong real whisky from back in the day.

    Exploding palate.

    Tasting with Armin Fuchs, Xochi, Pochi, TigEr and Siegfried in October 2015.
    • Nose
      (Most beautiful color plays)

       Malty in a very complex and aromatic way - giving the feeling of great maturity right from the beginning.

      Tingling classic 'Sherry' and strong cask influence throughout with jams (plum, cherry, marmalade), a lot of citrus ((candied) peels, 'orange brandy', orange juice), scouring powder, forest floor, tobacco leaves and burnt cake.

      After 25 minutes everything is in complete balance.

      Peat, chocolate covered raisins, demarara sugar, dark toffee-wood, much leather, old rum (also rum-hazelnuts), chocolate (rum-grape-nut chocolate also), hints of tart cognac later ...

      A great deepness, never losing balance - the aromatic citrus can be found in the far corner dancing with the mighty oak. Motor oil, 'lighthouse', ...
    • Taste
      What a sweetness! Many jams and a lot of citrus with orange juice, 'orange brandy' and demarara sugar.

      Again a wonderful maltiness gives a profound foundation.

      There is the old Sherry cask, just classic and enormously good - strong, spicy, intense but not out of balance!

      The game of sweetness and tartness is extreme, leading to dark molasses, burnt cake and slightly sweet espresso in the last third of the palate.
    • Finish
      A wonderful conclusion of the palate.

      Old Sherry cask, also classic Sherry, hints of tart Cognac and 'orange brandy' (this is not a liqueur). Also zest.

      The wood becomes more prominent to the 'end' - great finale!

      Again the malty base is classic and wonderfully mature.

    A very 'old' impression. Very woody. Dark.

    From time to time connotations of old Macallans … (nose)

    The interweaving of the flavours was not perfect when we opened the bottle,

    but from the second tasting on it was great -

    very good!

    Tasting with FineSpirits_butler1, June 2015.
    • Nose
      Cherries, strawberries, jams of different fruits, toffee, coffee, orange juice, some chocolate, old leather fruit, hints of rum, apples, tart berries with spices, charcoal, old sofa, bouillon cube, pralines, slightly peated toffee, old briefcase in leather etui, sweetened apricot peal, chocolate raisins, old jewelry box, dried figs, traces of peat, car seat of an old 'Volkswagen Käfer', rye bread crust, ground hazelnuts, dark cake, hints of cognac, parquet, dark chocolate, distant hints of parmesan, barbecue;

      very nice mixture of a certain tartness with dense sweetness!
    • Taste
      Red fruits, fiery, leather, citrus, wood, old (!) toffee, very (!) old plums, cocoa powder, roasted beef, salt;

      then spiciness-fruits-citrus combination, fruit compote, brandy beans, black banana peal, old coats and upholstery, bitter chocolate, toffe bakery, coffee ground;

      then traces of parmesan and of old, heavy tart red wine.

      Very 'old' character and much wood also.
    • Finish
      Tart wood with hot rum, cognac, pleasant bitter notes, citrus, tart-sour, old jams from wood berries, leather, hints of coffee beans, black pepper, walnut shells (with a pleasant bitterness), salt, aftertaste of vegetables, green tea, some brandy beans.

    Wow, what a special Whisky!

    The strong character is very old, full of antique things ...
