    From Whiskyfun:

Bowmore 11 yo 1998/2010 (46%, Signatory Vintage for LMdW, sherry butt, cask #800191, 756 bottles) Colour: pale gold. Nose: simply as flinty, mineral and ‘coastal’ as Bowmore can be, with a good deal of lemon and fresh oysters at first nosing and a very mild peatiness. The sherry kicks in after a few seconds, adding notes of leather, bitter oranges and marmalade, a little toffee and just wee touches of violets. Gets then farmier and farmier, with whiffs of horse stable. Mouth: great earthiness, roots, gentian and liquorice wood at first sips, then the ‘usual’ coastalness. Kippers, brine, samphire… Not really more peat than in the nose but it’s immensely marine. Finish: medium long, very salty, very coastal. Hints of violet sweets and cranberries again in the aftertaste – just hints. Comments: recommended if you like earthy and very briny Bowmores with moderate peat. SGP:544 - 86 points.

    Colour: Old gold-amber.
Nose: Peaty, tarry, maritime, salty, with some fish,
on tangerine, leather, and some orange.
    Taste: Surprisingly light, fresh,
juicy, peaty, maritime, and slightly tarry. The finish is medium, dry to very
dry, tarry, rough. Does not stand water very well.
    General Impression: A good
but rather dry sherried expression of Bowmore.

    Balanced and delectable.
    • Nose
Peat, iodine, apple, a little vanilla caramel cream.
    • Taste
Creamy, seaweed, sea salt, some fruit, caramel, sweet spices.
    • Finish
Long, a little pepper that overhangs peat smoke.

This is cask #800198, truly good whisky from a truly good cask.
    • Nose
Initially pungent, some varnish, once it sits with the nose, floral fragrances (violet) hiding the soft, mineral peat. Ripe, sugarcoated red apples (pomme d'amour), with some caramel.
    • Taste
A maritime whisky, starting with salt. Goes on a spicy tone. Violet returns in all its glory. The sherry gives its full expression, with some hints of leather, dark chocolate.
    • Finish
Pleasant, long. The pepper, the flowers and the chocolate remain present for some time. Grapefruit surprisingly appears afterward.
