A strong and for me also clearly maritime whisky. So not sea air peat, but peach compote on the beach promenade. I think you can tell by a blind tasting.
    • Nose

Smells pretty complex. First a bit malty with honey. Then come maritime tones, so sea air. But there are also fruits, for me in the direction of papaya, mango, peach. And the whole thing smells fresh and not a bit musty.

Maritime and strong. Significantly salty hints, now also clearly yellow fruits. Still some malt and honey. At a tasting others had vanilla and cinnamon here, I do not think so. He has volume.

Relatively short, some yellow fruit and maritime hints, but really very short.

A very nice 12 standard, you can say nothing at the price, the nose could have taken a bit more strength, but otherwise it is delicious.
    • Nose
Somewhat pointed and fruity fresh nose, remaining in the green area, lime zest, some grapefruit, salty, fresh cucumber, fresh grass, some floral, light malt and honey
    • Taste
Beautiful blend of salty oil and fresh, sourish fruit, grapefruit, lime, cucumber, lemon zest, light honey, light malt, flowers, unripe plums, some cinnamon and vanilla
    • Finish
Drying, the malt, now rather the peel of citrus, astringent pleasant, light honey with some thyme now and green tea, salt

Old Pulteney 12 years, original bottling, 40%
    Maturation: bourbon and sherry casks
    Region: Highlands, Scotland

Nose: Fresh and savory, but rather green fruits with a dash of lime. Malty and dry behind, some salty sea air. The painting looks very clean and robust. ...

Palate: Not sweet, yet fruity. Spicy plum jam, beautiful dryness, which again allows associations to the sea salt and the coast.

Finish: rather short, but not boring. The salty breeze comes through again, fresh and clean.

Conclusion: I always like to have it in the glass, this combination of fruit and saltiness is my thing. In the nose more complex than the palate. Especially suitable for beginners.
