What to say Wemyss has once again brought a top product onto the market! Extremely fair in price, extraordinary design and simply delicious.

No miracle of complexity, no boom, but extremely versatile, with great and beautiful sherry-accentuated notes ... and at a price that probably doesn't hurt anyone. I think a good rating is more than deserved!
    • Nose
Starts with nice dry sherry notes such as sweet dried fruits and a subtle, sweet mustiness. Then the tide turns a little and beautiful red fruit notes with delicate cocoa emerge. Vanilla, some icing, strawberry limes, freeze-dried raspberries and a minimal touch of spicy wood give a nice overall picture. I don't really like figs so far, it definitely is 'velvet'. Not extremely complex, but still extremely varied, round and simply delicious.
    • Taste
First lies pleasantly spicy on the tongue, then the sweet dried fruits follow. The wood is more present here, offering a nice, delicate tart counterpart to the fruit. This is followed by a light chocolate note, cocoa, again the light strawberry and raspberry notes, a little honey and tart herbs, as well as a light musty note of wood. Has a penchant for the typical, somewhat older sherry flavors, but is at the same time fresh and tangy-sweet. Delicious!
    • Finish
Wonderfully sweet, slightly oily, with vanilla, a little frosting, cocoa and beautiful reddish dried fruits. Not too long but makes a wonderful flawless finish. Ends with a slight tartness on the tongue. Very good.

Uhh, well not my case at all. My worst dram in a long time.
2nd dram today, and a lot better. A blatant different from the daily form. But far from 'good'.

Figs run through the entire malt, initially integrated fruity, then increasingly nutty/spicy. Overall pleasant but not much to explore. Everyday dram. Good PLV
    • Nose
      78 78
Pleasantly sweet and fruity, clearly reminiscent of figs and dark, ripe fruit. Slightly alcoholic, after a short time chocolate.
    • Taste
      78 78
Pleasant, not complex. Fig at the beginning, then apricot and ginger. Later nuts and chocolate.
    • Finish
      75 75
stay pale First spice (cinnamon, oak) replaced by fig. Departure medium long.

This is a dram that enigmas me. With the well-used barrels, not much substance comes out apart from the drinkability. Certainly drinkable, but I don't think I'll remember it for long. Only the advertised price can really satisfy me.

For me a decent drinking whiskey. Delicious on the tongue. Nothing for a long analysis, but well suited for a relaxed evening with 2-3 glasses, as it is cheap in price
    • Nose
      74 74
Sour fruits, pomelo, unripe plums, star fruit, walnuts, a little lovage, rye meal - it does not arouse great enthusiasm, however, as there is little harmony
After the first sip, it is fruity and more pleasant.
    • Taste
      83 83
Slightly tingling on the tongue, you can still feel the youth. Then a nice aroma, sweet fruits, now ripe plums, berries, honey, behind that some cocoa and some spicy oak. Not very special but a good sipper.
    • Finish
      78 78
Looks a little drier, that stays a little too. The other aromas fade quickly, then only linger subliminally.

    Only spicy on the nose.
Briefly sweet on the tongue. Then away.

  14. Stef89 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

Very tasty, simple whiskey that works well but doesn't invite you to linger for long
    • Nose
      86 86
Quite fresh, slightly acidic berry tones. No alcohol, no stinging nose. A slightly intrusive sweet.
Now the alcohol comes through. Something tickles. A musty note resonates. Green apple and physialis comes with me.
    • Taste
      85 85
Powerful start. The tart grapes come through first. A little must, carbonic acid, a slight tingling sensation. The sweetness is still a bit penetrating. I can't really grasp it. Vanilla comes along somewhere. Strange with the barrels used.
    • Finish
      83 83
There is now some wood in the finish. The sweetness lasts a long time. There is nothing new to discover here.
