This is not as bad a taste cacophony as the label and some ratings might suggest - interesting and perhaps a bit polarizing in view of the fruit acid, but far from cucumber water or something, rather something like "the dark side of late summer" ... Me like that, period.

Strongly spicy lilac bush blossom scents. Or like diving into a sea of shaken sunflowers. Including apple cider with dark fir honey and block malt - how does that work with such a barrel and such a light malt? Oh well, take a little longer to breathe, then comes the accusation of the pineapple - "What, you didn't sniff me before?" No, impossible, the floral aromas with this malo-sour undertone were just too strong. With even more time, overripe apricot and honeydew melon come with ham. Everything is a bit crazy, but I like it so far.

First thought: too pissed off! Fortunately, it quickly gets the hang of oily fruit notes, pomelo, honeydew melon and peaches in peach tea, an interplay of sweet and citrus-tart to bitter fruit.
    • Finish
      88 88
The tannins come out at the back in spherical form: pink and yellow grapefruit, with a little cane sugar. And the whole thing ends long and becoming more harmonious - there is nothing to complain about (except that, of course, it is so similar with many exBC Speysiders).

    Classic, slowly matured Speysider.

Fruity with apple and pears, some black currants, candied orange peel and a hint of aniseed. Harmonious and balanced.
    • Taste

Fruity, pears, little spice, some lemon. Sweet, cake.
    • Finish
      88 88
Fruitjelly, spicy and dry. Relatively short.

It takes the concept of "naked" or "natural" malts to extremes; can understand that this polarizes. As much as I'm generally inclined to refill bottlings, that's nothing for me.

Naturally cloudy apple juice, yeast dough, quark, lemon juice, sour grapes. On the one hand it seems really outrageously "young": yeasty, fermented, sour ... On the other hand, nothing really sticks in the nose, and this mildness already indicates the older age. Not a trace of wood undiluted, at least for my subjective opinion. With a lot of time and water, then a delicate spice note, cinnamon or nutmeg maybe. A nose for purists. Or nudists.
    • Taste

Very, very sour and snappy, with only distant hints of vanilla and coconut. Grapefruit Lemon Ginger Brandy? Water doesn't change anything except the intensity.
    • Finish
      76 76
      Sour-bitter, citrus-hot.

Light color ... white wine. It reminds me ... of Liquid Treasures' 2000 Secret Clynelish. Did that come out last year? A nasty, pungent note between chipboard, sourdough, and unripe apples. From the back you can somehow scrape together vanilla, banana and tree sap, but they can't get them out either. Yes, that will probably improve in the air, it still tastes like ~ 12 years.
