Horrendous whiskey. Not everyone states it, but I find it enormously soapy. Aside from that it is very grainy and cereal driven, with notes of fresh cut wood and vanilla.

My second glen Breton, and both are equally bad. I dumped most of my sample down the drain...

Did not like this at all at first but as I lived with the bottle for a few months it definitely grew on me.

I'm writing these notes as I found them in the whiskey over time.

Lemon, cardboard, buttery malt, Mcintosh apple, soapy, soft mint, gooseberry, candy cane, waxy banana, something savoury (baked ham), marshmallow, strawberry, damp clay.

Nose:- Roasted barley like a stout. Honey drifting with hint of tobacco and floral.

Palate:- Bourbon characters, juicy plum and sweet, lightly spice and fresh oak, sawdust. Slightly raw.

Finish:- Short-medium, lack depth, restrainted. Still quite smooth and fade away with some cocoa.

Fruity, pear, hint of mint, eucalyptus, canned pineapple, a chemical fruit-toffee note. Liquorish and more tropical fruit. Butterscotch (zeeuwse roomboter babbelaars for those who are Dutch)

Sweet (rum like), toffee, canned tropical fruit, sugar. a bit of an alcohol bite. Touch of sweet and sour and a hint of bitterness after a few seconds. And some butterscotch had the overall taste.

not much, just a bit oily.

short. Some sweetness, hint of wood and some toffee.

    Not too bad.

a bit overrated for this quality.

I think it isn't as bad as written over here. I had the 700ml version for european market. I think it is just a bit too sugar-sweet. When you add a little water it transforms to the better.

The first time i´ve tasted this one i wasn´t blewn away but thought it was okay. Since the bottle was open it became worse and worse... Tried it several times and i just had to throw away the last dram, i couldn´t stand it anymore, even thought it is not my principle to waste food or even worse; alcohol. I think the cardboard packaging with the small imitation-silk inlay tastes better...

    One to avoid.
    • Nose
Banana-nut to the fore, then a bizarre agglomeration of toast, honey, floral/perfume, dull soap and some grassiness.
    • Taste
Oily and mouth coating. Mildly sour, balanced by toasted cereals, honey-flower, green apple, and some mild ginger. It is astringent at first, but this mellows with the addition of water.
    • Finish
Sharp and long, with initial cereal notes transitioning to sourness and spice.

  9. The Macallan scored this whisky 63 points Connoisseur

Very young and slightly to weak. This malt tends to fade away after two hours in the glas. There's hardly any aroma or flavor left in the glass.
    • Nose
Fruity, citrus, malty, sligthly floral, earthy and straw like
    • Taste
      Soft, sweet and malty
    • Finish
      Gentle, light and short
