6 whiskynerds all agreed on this being awesome. People reviewing with poor points drink with their eyes and minds that this is a crap whisky because it's from "famous grouse"-group.

This is a blended malt with macallan, highland park and Glenrothes. This is no bullcrap. No grain added.

Sherry, nutty, raisins with a buttery nose. Great

      Oakyness with sherry and vanilla.
    • Finish

      Oaky butterness and sherry

    Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes,
    nose:
rancio- sherry with pepper, crushed walnuts, freshly distilled eau de vie with mold yeast that forms, a little also on the sap
    stuffy:
peppery spices, white glue, crushed and sweet orchard fruits, iodized caramel
    final:
toasted, spicy, monolithic, wood and caramel

  4. wisekyofcourse scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

a selection of juices between Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes, not possible! Whether!! with a 6 month finish in Oloroso cask!
    nose:
surprising because it has everything of a great, with the young sherry, the well present but characteristic malt, a little toasted, spicy and wood galore
the fruits are cooked, basket of fruit from the orchard and a return of mould, nuts, glue, caramel.
    stuffy:
good, there it goes down a notch, the peppery spices fall and erase this remarkable nose; green fruits (apple), bitterness, slightly salty caramel here, well toasted, not bad at all, but it suddenly lacks typicality
    final:
toasted, spicy, monolithic, wood and caramel, medium.

if you consider the price, then you can drink it as a beginner with a fruity sherry influence

Dark, deep amber color. Pretty oily.

Lots of fruit. Red fruit. You can clearly feel the influence of Sherry and clearly (surprisingly!) Macallan! Dry Sherry Oloroso. Maybe some wood, but one from a Sherry cask. Maybe some varnishes, but in a very nice edition. Caramel. Light spice of spices.
    • Taste
      82 82
A perceptible Sherry cask, dry, Oloroso. Dark chocolate. A pinch of spices. Cinnamon. Light oily. Cocoa. Some oak.
    • Finish
      79 79
Light spicy at first. Spices. Cocoa and dark chocolate. Medium length, maybe medium-short.

    1674) Naked Malt

Grouse hunter was hunted, buried in this first filled drum.
    • Nose
N- Short stroll on merchants lanes, relish warm spices on each breath. Sweet scented leather from the stores, trice of candy lollies with toffee spreads. Coffee and cacao well under-thread. (86/20)
    • Taste
P- Potpourri of heather and flowery herbs, balanced with sweet berries merge. Sherry dry on pleasant olorosso brine. Soft and gentle but firm and suffice. Delicious Orkney finds.(87/21)
    • Finish
F- Medium, waxy spices, bitter orange, coffee, cacao and sweet tobacco pipes. (86/20)

B/B- 86/20 With 3 fine distilleries in this blend, it shouldn't go wrong. Very good at its own league, just like the previous Grouse.

Weighted Rate- 82, +1 for the good value. Teaspoon by Master "M" (Not Dr. M) at appropriate price.

  10. Caskmen scored this whisky 84 points Expert Junior

A young lively blend of whiskey that tastes simply delicious with its 40% alcohol volume. Rich in fruity sherry notes, you can taste the 6 months in "Naked' first-fill Oloroso sherry casks". A good price / performance ratio. More than a "Daily Dram".

In the finish lasting and very pleasant.
