Very good whisky for sure, with special attention to the nose. Remarkably versatile, everytime new things to discover, organic, earthy, smoky, fruity, sweet, floral, it all peeps in if you give it time, and why shouldn't you.
The taste is less versatile and diverse than the nose, still enough to discover. Alcohol is strong but well integrated, and doesn't overpower at all.
The finish is long and lasting, like chewing on a cigar for quite some time.
A great joy to drink this.
Intense nose from scratch, powered by some alcohol punch, some whiffs of earthy peat, skai and rubber arive. Organic, then slowly some roasted meat comes in, bacon. After some time, fruitiness passes by, with an ashy edge. Ripe fruits, some berries, and wood smoke. Very versatile and rich. Even some cigar tobacco now.
Later more sweetness with hints of chocolate, still over a woodsmoke base. Then suddenly some floral notes, the nose keeps on evolving, really a great nose.
Pretty some power, spicy, pepper. Licorice, with a clear salty touch. Some orange, hints of honey, and some wood smoke and smoky bitterness. After some while it gets light fruitier, citrus, with far away a kind of sugarsweet edge, which gets more dominant later on. Then the sweetness turns into a more caramel flavor.
Still pretty powerful, pepper. Much more ashy now, with some blueberry in the back. Wood smoke. Cigar tobacco again, and a bitter touch. After some time, more sweetness comes in, the alcohol gets more sparkling, ash and tobacco remain for quite some time.
