Nose: Dark chocolate with cinnamon, nougat and old dry raisins. In addition to lightly salted almonds, I also find ripe plums and a flowery/soapy aroma that I can't describe in more detail. In addition to the cinnamon, a slight note of sulfur tickles the nose, and I also have to think of rum cake.
Palate: Very sweet and soapy at first, then enormously spicy and quite hot. Cigar tobacco, cinnamon and cedar wood. In addition, a lot of oak as well as pepper, tea, some ginger and thyme, and I also associate the taste with slightly damp matches.
Finish: Very long, woody and spicy. Ginger and cinnamon, oak and tobacco, some dark chocolate. Unfortunately, the alcohol already stands out strongly here and is not really well integrated.
Conclusion: If you want to look into the deep abysses of sherry soup, here is such a specimen. The Miltonduff still lacks a bit of maturity, some aromas seem artificial, but the color is quite nice to look at. 84/100 points (2022)
