N: We continue flying high. A firm abv offers up bananas, a suggestion of Space Invaders, clean yet old thick varnish on mahogany, Feast Bars, blackcurrant cheesecake,…. savoury-sweet gelatinous/confectionary treats.

T: Heavenly sweet and faultless arrival, perfectly formed, malty and oily, fruity too. With a focused/determined route, we pick up on banana flambé and blackcurrant/raspberry coulis over ice cream.

F: More ‘magical’ beer, thick bourbon-y cask effects, battered yet uncooked pineapple rings.

C: Though not particularly [who cares] Springbank-y in my book, it’s delicious stuff – uber-fresh, super-accessible, likeable, fresh, robust.

Birthday Session 2.7 - Tasted Blind

Well, what can you say ? Total winner. Oddly enough, many sides are reminiscent of the excellent (and similarly scored) Lochsidse Grain 1963 of yesterday. I shall not complain.

Splendid nose on woody white Burgundy from Côte-de-Beaune, with almonds, popcorn, but it goes far beyond that : red fruits make an apparition, but also flowers (hibiscus), pepper, well yes this is pretty splendid. Palate is splendid, alcohol is perfectly integrated and makes for a perfect crescendo in flavours, almonds again, fudge, white chocolate, melon, fresh raspberries, honeysuckle, whipped cream ... Finishes perfectly fresh and precise on pastry notes lifted up by shiso and peppermint.

    • Nose
Huge Springbankness, mineral, chalks, celeriac roots, raw potatoes, lotus roots. On the other sides, explosive oranges, orange flavoured candies, fresh and savoury.
    • Taste
Orange chocolates, quite salty and savoury, A lot of sweet oranges, mixed with fresh herbs, mint leaves, lemongrass, quite big and balanced. Still quite mineral, very typical Springbanks from the old days...
    • Finish
Long and big, huge chocolate spices, huge vanilla seeds, fresh butter, lemon gelato.

Springbank 30yo Milroy's of Soho old Soh Selection Golden Strength 75cl 50% vol. Clear glass - Tall bottle - Age in cream label - Cork drive - Bronze capsule This is a spirit that seems to want to buy delicious salted sprinkle Springbank 30yo Milroy's of Soho! Well, Springbank sometimes may be a sign of a delicacy, but major measures are also nice, but after all Whisky is not fun without gamble, so this Springbank! Color: Do not you disappoint the expectation? Unexpectedly? Like a light roasted tea, it is good to have a bit of ego color Nose: Salty of squid? L think it is good! There is also clamsy nuance, and there is not much lady-like Springbank at this stage, but is it good? Attach: It seems as if a salty system like a freshly baked oyster of Saroma is dying! After all, the fresh oyster is perfect for Whisky.I want to eat oysters as soon as you are saying that.Body: It's not dull at all for 30yo! Tightness is also not moderate metabolism. Body. Taste: oily to be rebellious! There is a coal tar style, there is a pleasant poison rather than a lady Springbank. Pretty much my fingers, if you can, I would like to eat grilled fish, if possible I prefer herring (鰊) rather than Komatie (fish under ice) Oin rotation Gin A fruit feeling like putting Madeleine into a little bit also got drunk indeed, and boosting of salt after fruit feeling is outstanding! Finish: Kansai style soy sauce Gish is not Knockout out! Feeling to want to eat ara, Finish of ecstatic ecstasy that grows groan and grows awkwardly with elegance and roughness like aroma drifts in udon in western Japan! A faint flower fruit goes back and forth in return, and the lady aroma squall was able to fully enjoy it, after all, Springbank is beautiful, but I use energy to drink! It is the highest sinful distillery. https://whisky2010.usukeba.com/u/whisky2010/1fyharsoi98z26
