Great fruity nose (especially with a few drops of water) and the finish is longer and more oaky than you would expect from an 11 year old. Unfortunately, the taste falls off a bit.

Lots of malt and dusty grain, sweetness, fresh and fruity after apple, pear and some lemon. After a short standing time, the fruity predominates. The alcohol is indicated in the form of menthol.

Great tropical notes are added with water. Banana and honeydew melon, and the malt is getting a little stronger again. Has something of yeast wheat. I like it.

Fruity, like apple, pear, lemon on the nose, with oak, pepper, light spiciness.

      Softer with water.

Surprisingly long, warming, with a good amount of oak spice and some sweetness.

A solid bottling that has apparently also found its fans, but which in my opinion is neither particularly harmonious nor particularly complex. The biggest plus is the high drinking strength. The bottle price (2022) is above average despite the significantly increased prices. For my taste, I would call up to €50 for what is on offer here if I was in a good mood. In the price range called up here, there is a very large number of interesting(er) bottles.
Nevertheless, I must also emphasize that this is really one of the better Elixir bottlings in this price range, alongside the Glen Elgin (WB184642). For example, the Glenlossie 2010 (WB197930) and the Benrinnes 2008 (WB197283) were significantly less enjoyable.

Fresh-looking nose with a swing of light garden fruits. The alcohol makes itself felt a bit, but given the high alcohol strength, it's still very reasonable. Apples, slightly overripe pears, quinces, lemon balm and a touch of juniper berries.
A few drops of water make it softer on the nose, but this tends to cover the aromas.
    • Taste
      85 85
Strong, tingling start. Ripe Pears, Malt, Juniper, Lemon Balm, Applesauce, Sweet and Sour Citrus Wine Gums (Sour French Fries).
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium length finish with slightly overripe pears, play dough and caramel.

Nose: full and round, vanilla, vaseline, apple, grape, some fresh hay, some apricot, some honeydew melon

Palate: creamy and round, dextrose, apple, apricot, vanilla sauce, some honeydew melon, some Vaseline, some blossom honey

Finish: medium to short, warm, grape sweetness, vanilla, vaseline, astringent at the end

Rating: it is well done. Grape sweetness, vanilla, apple and Vaseline result in a harmonious overall picture. Water makes it sweeter and brings out the best in honeydew melon. It's delicious.
