A mellow and extremely easy going blend. Characters of the distiller as stated on the box (Caol Ila, Talisker, Linkwood) are not really apparent. Quite a watered down version of 3 distilleries if I must say so. Nonetheless, a decent blend for daily drinking.
I like this older version of the 15 better, although it is not a revelation either. But in terms of taste, nose and palate are balanced. Significantly better in the oral cavity. The finish also harmonizes better with the taste. Quite round and balanced.
Sweetish, slightly fruity, slightly smoky, pleasant vanilla, a little caramelized sugar, dried fruit after raisins, plums, appears mint-fresh after a while. Add to that wet wood, herbs,
Tingly hot, smoke is a bit more dominant here. With some fruit like ripe banana, oranges, peaches. Subtle sweetness from honey that is increasingly covered by smoke. A bit of oak spice with chocolate, it is not alcoholic, hardly any bitterness, taste much better.
Medium-long finish, some chocolate, coffee, smoke decreases significantly here, the spice also decreases noticeably,
