ui, something has changed here compared to the other batches. For me very different from the previous ones.
Sweeter, softer / creamier, more fruit on the nose.
The taste is sweeter, spicier and fruity than before.
[86 - 82 = good whisky -> get a second bottle? Maybe ...] mmmh, in this case actually, earned 86 points for me with an upward trend.

initially a light vanilla aroma (I didn't have the clarity in the previous batches) and also more honey than usual.
At the after-tasting I still have a lemon aroma, which is not sour, but rather sweet.
Icing sugar sweetness, the spice of nutmeg and cinnamon, a nice load of herbs spreads out.
White grapes have a slightly sour note, but this is dominated by sweet notes, which has a certain complexity for me, as there is a play between light acidity and rather sweet wine notes.
For me the sweetest of all batches so far (1-6). He also doesn't seem as stormy young as the previous batches 3 and 5.
Further light fruits, but in terms of color no longer light yellow (unripe pear, green apple), but juicy yellow (ripe pear, yellow / red apple).
The hay note and sometimes also the vegetable note, which I always somehow had in all other batches, I no longer have here at all.

only a gentle start, but the spice is immediately present and presses on the tongue with full load. Fruits of apple, pear and apricot are more sweetish.
      Vanilla croissants with blossom honey.
Second sip: spicy, fruity, ginger spiciness (youthful spiciness) presses on the tongue again, but then becomes softer / creamier again ... nice.

here one notices the youth again. Something remains of the oak tannins, it is also becoming drier, which is probably due to the STR barrels; otherwise it flew by quite quickly - but it shouldn't necessarily be expected otherwise.
      Light dark chocolate.

A nice first impression of Neachneohain (Nc'nean). It is fully flavoured dram, quite impressive for its young age (3 years of maturation?). Still, the red wine influence is very noticeable, which I am not too fond of. I'm looking forward to try an older bourbon matured dram from this distillery in the future.

A malty sweet start with apple juice, a floral sweetness, peach candy and croissants and white chocolate. Becomes more oaky after a while, with a sour note too.
    • Taste
      83 83
More fruity now, with citrus fruits, grapes and 'artificial' strawberry. It's a gummi bear-like sweetness, rather artificial sweet than fresh fruity. Some after eight appears, together with honey and puff pastry. Becomes a bit muddy and sour after a while, which I often get if red wine casks are used.
    • Finish
      82 82
Spicy finish, mainly mint leaves. Muddy chocolate, with some peach, banana and honey. A dryness lingers in the back of the mouth.

I tried this today from my friends open bottle, the packaging and box in my opinion aren't really whisky. It's more like a gin bottle in a perfume box.

Anyway the whisky wasn't bad and I could get some interesting barley notes from this organic stuff they used which was enjoyable but in a whole its very incomplete, it was giving me some nice perfumed nosing notes with mostly honey but it was very simple with spices some faint dry fruits and a touch on caramel and vanilla. After some time and water mild barley sugars and sower sweet cereal notes appeared.

On the palate it was spicy with honey and some berry or strawberry like fruity-ness, the red wine STR cask felt forced on to the whisky to give a flavor dip and color it also had hints of sulfur that went away with water.

The finish was short and it kind of just kept the honeyed spiciness going with some fruit elements and vanilla cream. Some interesting barley notes going on here too.

Overall quite incomplete and young but not bad, I wouldn't spend 40+ euros on it and personally for my palate I wouldn't buy it all together.

    Nc'Nean Organic Whisky Batch 6, 46%.

Pale golden orange. Almost a two-tone colour when held to light. Looks nice.

Aroma is cereal-led yet also fruity. Honeydew melon. Buttery...Margarine, more like. Waxy. Violin resin maybe. Varnished wood.

Definitely a little less fruity and more cereal/oak/waxy vibes than previous Nc'Neans I’ve tried. Quite a bit of lemonade later on, shandy. Although the output varies, I can’t remember a closed nose on a Nc'Nean!

Taste is soft - punchy flavour but restrained heat. Salt, oak and fruits merge into one cohesive pleasant whole. Eggnog. Some apple pie.

This is typically potent, fruity/estery, balanced stuff from this distillery. Even though this is not the best I've had from them, it is still well above-average, and that says a lot about this distillery and its prospects. Consider me a big fan. 3.625/86

Batch is unknown. Surprisingly good for a three year old whisky

Apples, malt, oak, balanced, slight tingling

      Sweet, medium length, pleasant, malty,
      young, dry at the end

    Glorious dram.
Distinctive herbal and floreal profile in such a young expression indicates a brilliant future for this distillery.

Fresh and smooth. A meadow where herbal notes are mixed with spring young flowers. Perfect dram for a summer night aperitif
    • Taste

You expect emptiness but it comes a full rich bouquet of plants with predominant lavender taste. Astonishing.
    • Finish

Due to youth maturation, it becomes harsh. But still keeping a strong profile similar to Metaxa.

In terms of flavor and aroma profile, this sample can be attributed to a solid release of the basic level. And it is worth noting that its maturity is more like 8-10 years old, but not 3 years.
    • Nose
Orange zest, light grape tones, oak, cinnamon.
    • Taste
Soft, sweetish, with moderate pepperiness and malty tones.
    • Finish
      Long, not difficult.
