You can dilute it with water and it becomes a tasty malt to "chew away". Isn't particularly exciting or diverse. The flavors evaporate too quickly and everything seems somehow bland.
    Sample is enough for me.

Starting with a clear wood note, it becomes increasingly spicy like nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. Some dried fruit with nuts shows up, but it seems somehow bland. I also have some vanilla and toffee in the background. With more time, a subtle mint / menthol note develops.
I don't think it's alcoholic. Everything well integrated.
However, I also have the feeling that the aromas don't last very long.

Hot, spicy start. More like chilli heat. Here you can tell that the alcohol is already a bit depressing. Slightly fruity, slightly sweet. Bananas, oranges and a subtle sour grapefruit note provide a bit of variety. Some bitter coffee forms.
But everything is kept short and sweet on the palate as well.
    • Finish
      82 82
Short to medium-length finish, spice and sharpness still dominate, then it gets drier.

Significantly different from the typical sherry gelendronachs. Dominating light fruity and spicy aspects that make it surprisingly different. At 57% undiluted, the alcohol is clearly present in the nose and on the palate. .

A spicy start and then change to light fruits such as apples, pears and peaches. Later more spices, vanilla, lemon balm and honey. A slight solvent note and toasty aromas appear. The alcohol cools the nose a little.
    • Taste
      87 87
Strong, bitter-sweet start with spices, light fruits, rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar. The alcohol is present.
    • Finish
      87 87
Quite a long, spicy finish, with a clear, salivary-stimulating bitterness here as well. The alcohol is somewhat aggressive. Pepper, oak and walnut appear.

The alcohol is really nicely integrated. It is also true that it comes from the spicy side. In my opinion, nuts and oak dominate. Unfortunately, the sherry notes are missing or fade very quickly. That makes this whisky a bit one-dimensional, but a very pleasant oak note remains in the mouth. A very different Glendronach ...

Not again sold it after drinking 4cl of it.

Alkohol ist not good integrated, it is only heavily spicy and a bit bitter.

Not a Glendronach or Sherry driven Whisky for me at all and it tastes like it is much younger but with a missing Character of the Distillery.

The Glendronach 8 is completely different but much better and seems to be be older.

This Glendronach has nothing to do with bottlings 12, 15, 18, 21. Even adding water doesn't help. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed as I would have expected more. One sample is therefore sufficient.
Better twice a Glendronach 12 for the money.
