A good malt that has a swing too much wood. Reminds me a bit of the Allardice, but is probably older. (blind tasting)
    • Nose
sweet and rich sherry. Raisins, some chocolate. Something orange and also something freshly herbal, that's more than the meadow around here. Some oak, but very mild and also a little subdued.
    • Taste
In the mouth, the sherry sweetness is accompanied by a decent amount of wood, strong, astringent, some citrus, lots of berries and lots of wood.
    • Finish
The finish is rich, raisins, sherry, dark chocolate. The wood is a touch soapy. That means getting a little too much.

Notes from an online blind tasting...
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Amber

      Nose:
A clean sherry profile. Kinda reminds me of Glenfarclas right now. In addition dried apricots and tropical hints. Overripe kiwi and canned pineapple.
With some time in the glass, the sherry goes back a bit and more dry wood flashes. Plus black tea. There is still such a reserved sweetness. Reminds me of Kluntjes before he comes in the tea. The alcohol is very restrained. Goes in the fresh direction, like peppermint.
With even more time in the glass, the sherry becomes clearer again. In addition, some leather and not quite as ripe berries.
    • Taste
Dry, woody attack. Neat bitterness. Slightly nutty. Cocoa powder for cake baking. Pear skins, plums and yeast dough.
Rather grassy on the second sip. Black tea again. Red apple and again the firm, subtle sweetness in the background.
    • Finish
medium length Pleasant bitterness and some mocha.

You have to be careful not to empty the whole bottle at once, it's so tasty.

Quite tasty, albeit relatively less complex, but very balanced - great!
    Almost dangerously drinkable ...
    • Nose
      89 89
A very nice sherry fruit mix!
Elegant and with many facets like wooden furniture polished with beeswax and a fresh mint note, which is enriched with floral aromas of a late summer meadow.
    • Taste
      88 88
Delicious honey, everything stays harmonious and pleasing, 'dangerously drinkable', a whiskey made to look back on the bright side of winter with a look back at sunnier times.
    • Finish
      87 87
Everything now fades, but leaves the elegance of the nose and palate in the most pleasant way.

A balanced and very tasty dram.
    • Nose
      89 89
Sherry, dried fruits and banana comes with a hint of sun lotion (Tiroler Nussöl)
    • Taste
      89 89
Sherry, some wood, pepper and clove.
    • Finish
      88 88
Spicy and peppery, some buttery notes and a wee amount of black currant.
