Again a good example of an OA Highland Park, overall not bad and also quite tasty and tasty. Unfortunately, it is also a bit simple and interchangeable. The independent bottlers do a better job and in my opinion also bring out the better HPs.

Herbs and some floral notes ensure a good start. Various wood aromas underline this floral impression. Some pine, sawdust and oak. There is also honey and some wax moments. Slightly smoky to a lesser extent. In itself, the alcohol seems to be well integrated. Even so, water probably doesn't do any harm. ;)

Powerful, chilli-hot, high spiciness and wood bring some tannins with them, which also makes it appear a bit bitter. He gets a contrast from the honey, which makes the malt a little sweeter. Light fruit notes of apple and pear, with a touch of exotic coconut.
Water makes it smoother and more malty. But if something takes out the fruit, it turns more towards citrus and makes it look even more floral.
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium-long finish, tannins, somewhat astringent, oak and vanilla

Very tasty and intense Sherry Highland Park, the whisky tolerates a lot of water and, contrary to expectations, is always better! Nice thing!

Undoubtedly, for 10 years, the Highland Park shows good maturation: the alcohol is well integrated, the nose has the typical Highland Park character, the aromas are intense. But where is the complexity? I would even say it's ridiculously straightforward. Certainly not a bad whisky, but I expect more from a single cask.

The typical Highland Park notes are immediately in the nose: heather, slightly foral and a lot of honey. There is also a light green note of pine and resin. Some cold ash can be seen in the background. Alcohol is well integrated.

Uiii, with its 66.5% it has a lot of steam: Undiluted, intense, spicy forest honey and very sweet. First add a little water: it stays intensely sweet, then it becomes sweet and, towards the end, forest honey sweet. No seriously, I was expecting more complexity. After several sips, the light pine and resin notes are added. That's it.

Medium length. Well, the sweetness and some tannins stay on the tongue here too.
