    Blenders Glass.
The aroma is naturally dominated by peat, but behind it are sweet fruits, seaweed (iodine), tanned leather, tobacco, spices (salt) and medicin (bandages and anesthetics).
    The taste matches the aroma.
The finish is very long, sour wood and a lot of peat. Too much)

A great octomore. Would recommend drinking it straight, the 63% are very well integrated.
    • Nose
Dry peat smoke, sea breeze or salt, without masking the fruity notes: lemon, apricot, peach, orange peel, coconut oil, green apples and pears, vanilla and delicate tannins. Malt sweetness. Complex and at the same time perfectly coherent. No stinging alcohol.
    • Taste
Strong and creamy. You notice the 63% by lightly sizzling, but pleasantly. Alternating dry smoke, salt and sweetness. Apricot and peach, mango and vanilla. Lemon and orange. Perfect!
    • Finish
Long. Cocoa and chocolate flavors with the smoke and ash remain in the mouth for minutes.

These must have been first-class barrels.

Balanced smoke and peat, sweetness, fruitiness and smoke in a perfect combination, my (currently) personal favorite of all Octomore whiskys that I have drunk so far.

    Small direct comparison between 7.2, 7.3, 8.2
My number 1 of the three.
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Shiny gold

      Nose:
In direct comparison to 7.2, it is significantly less smoky. Here I immediately find a sweet - sour fruit aroma that shoots straight into your nose. In addition liquid candle wax and a sooty cheese note. The light-fruity aroma goes well in the fermented direction. This one is slightly salty. Leather again, but not as strong as on 7.2. Here I'm more on asphalt vapor. I'll let it stand a little ...
With a little time in the glass it develops wonderfully. Thick caramel plays with salt and vanilla. Something like burnt lemon cream roll. I like it very much.
    • Taste
Soft, smoky start. It comes across as really cute. Grapes, currants and salty caramel. Has something of rosemary and barbecue chips. With the second sip, green bananas and fresh wood spice are added. The berry, now goes more towards gooseberries.
    • Finish
Rather long. Sweet, fruity and smoky. It even develops a very creamy honey note.

The tasting was from a long-open bottle with a remaining content of approx. 2cl. Lots of contact with oxygen.

Glasses used: Spiegelau Premium Snifter and Glencairn Copita
    • Nose
      88 88
Very strong start, light yellow fruit notes, dry peat smoke, slightly "wine-like" behind the smoke, tangy citrus fruits, ash, lemon sweets, herbs, maritime, somewhat earthy and mineral, frosting, oranges, clear vanilla, some fresh herbs, slightly salty impression, Driftwood, malty, nice creamy sweetness, becomes slightly sugary over time, yellow tropical fruits, green grapes
    • Taste
      87 87
Powerful start, dry, somewhat bitter, woody, maritime, strong smoke, very spicy, campfire smoke, dry herbs, vanilla, nice sweetness in the background, crisp, light wood, cold ash
    • Finish
      87 87
Spicy wood, somewhat dry, very tart herbs, tangy-tart citrus peel, mineral notes, vanilla, nice sweetness in the background, vanilla, dry-tart, spicy, light wood, light fruit notes, salty-maritime. A strong, voluminous finish with plenty of smoke and maritime notes.
