  1. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Molt in which the dry port won the fragrance, outplayed the stubborn fight in taste and lost the penalty in the aftertaste. A lot of port, everywhere porto, I like it as a port lover, it's interesting and pleasant, how to be you - decide for yourself.
    • Nose
Clean port, ruby, young and fussy, in the background - malt, scanty notes, raw wood, wet stones, but the porto is still dominant.
    • Taste
The same ruby, alternating with oak - a struggle between sweet and bitter against the background of spices - black pepper and ginger.
    • Finish
Acutely peppery, turning into a sweet-fruity, a little lemon zest, caramel Duches, cranberries, cranberries, quite long.

Very pleasant port-finish whisky ... beautiful fruit nuances in the nose and a spicy, powerful taste ... with a medium long finish. Also one of those where it is a pity that they are slowly disappearing :-(.

He has a nice fruity nose, in the mouth fades the intense fruitiness but unfortunately something. No wonder of flavor, but nicely done despite everything.
    • Nose
A nice sweetsweet towards 'Take 2'. Intense fruity sweet and juicy tangerines with a hint of sweetened strawberries and very little lemon zest. It can be guessed still a trace of hay and pastries.
    • Taste
Here he shows a slightly tingling wineiness with a little sweetness. Red apples with a little bit of bitter orange come to the fore. Some malt and fresh grass has hidden behind everything.
    • Finish
Again slightly vinous with a delicate caramel cream. Rather dry with a slight bitterness. Medium. Finally, a touch of milk chocolate comes on.

Enjoyable. Not very complex or intense, but quite round.
    • Nose
The fruit gum-like portnote opens the 12er of the nose. The alcohol cools noticeably. Lemongrass behind, maybe a bit of hay. Vanilla and caramel are also there. Overall, a rather subtle start. The fruitiness prevails.
    • Taste
Creamy sweet at first, then oak to a pleasant coffee note.
    • Finish
Medium long, a bit of port and spice stay and warm.

A decent entry level whisky, but it lacks some intensity. Especially the port influences are very weak which is a bit disappointing. I like their regular 10yo more.

In color, this Glencadam is dark, strong, with a touch of reddish. The nose is dominated by a fruity sweetness. The port is already here. There are also caramel, citrus and grassy notes. The storm of aromas in the nose decreases over time, but the fruity sweetness remains. The mouth is filled with a mixture of toffee, coffee, malt and port. None of the different impressions dominates, everything forms a harmonious whole. The finish is rather short and brings back once clear chocolate taste.
In this Glencadam, the port finish sets the direction. Both, the port and the whisky, form a harmonious whole. A whisky with a very high fun factor.
