Glen Divers 2009 - 2021, 12 years, 57.4% alc. Bottler: Best Dram. Expansion: Amontillado sherry cask (Hogshead, first fill) No. 900231

Nose: Amazingly nutty at first. I find almonds, walnuts and then also hazelnuts in dark chocolate, at the same time there is a fruity sweetness. Blackberries and various berry jams, some sweet cherries and leather follow.

Palate: Starts creamy and sweet, builds intensely and then becomes slightly more bitter. Here, too, nuts, dark chocolate and dried berries. In addition, apricot kernels, dry oak wood, cooked raspberries and delicate milk coffee.

Finish: Medium length and carries on as before. In addition cedar wood, cloves, malt and cocoa.

Conclusion: Sweet, creamy and just the right amount of spice. Definitely a recommendation for lovers of dark sherry malts. 87/100 points (2022)

Aroma: voluminous aromas of old sherry with blackberries, black currants, some block malt and almonds.
Taste: gentle, round, soft and full-bodied with sherry, milk chocolate and almost overripe blackberries.
Finish: medium length, warming and dark with chocolate and aromas of dark berries.

    Hot, hot, hot ...
    • Nose
      78 78
Alcoholic pungent, nutty sherry notes, dark fruits in the background, light flowery, which is a little stronger with water
    • Taste
      72 72
The stinging continues directly in the mouth, the 57.4% more like 67+ revolutions. The alcohol is very badly integrated, it would easily have taken another 3-4 years in the barrel. Doesn't get any better with water. In addition to the stinging, I perceive some sweetness, but the alcohol drowns out everything.
    • Finish
      76 76
Dark malt, some bitterness, mouthfeel similar to that after an espresso.
