Whisky Reviews for Glen Elgin 1975 BA

- An interesting found, a little bit soapy in the finish.
Metallic, a lot of red fruits, some Sauternes，raisins.
Fresh lemon, ripe apple, very aromatic and floral, liquorice.
Floral, farmy, with a little bit soap.
- Tasted at Gathering 2018 (Teun van Wel / Maltstock)!
- I have had a full bottle of this and yesterday tried it again at a festival. It a lot fruiter then I could remember. Nothing of the smoke and coffee flavours but floral, fruity. Still good though!
- Nice Glen Elgin, which states smoke and peat on the label but that is only there when the whisky is fresh out of the bottle. With water and letting it breathe for a few hours that changed a lot and it becomes fruity with coffee / coffee bean flavours.
Glen Elgin has a very interesting profile although not the most expressive Glen Elgin and there are better 1975 releases. Interesting though!
Orange zest, touch of lemon. Rosewater and some vanilla. It's sweet specially if you let it breathe for some time. Small bit of peat and smoke. Smoke stays a bit, peat is gone after some time.
Peat, oranges, vanilla and a little tiny bit of pepper. And something like mocca or coffee beans. I can't really describe that, the smoke is there which covers the whole taste a bit.
This starts quite sweet, but when I let it breathe for quite some time and add water it's a lot of coffee beans and mocca.
