    2021 bottle.
The nose is a mixture of honey, orange, lemon and a little pepper, barley sugar, what I would call pleasant.
The palate is surprisingly spicy and surprisingly not that sweet which i thought it would be.
With time in the glass it does sweeten up a little, some barley sugar and orange are there.
Decent length of finish, just not that interesting to be honest

    • Taste

    • Finish
Longer than I expected, honey, pepper, cinnamon

The aroma is great, but the quality of the wine is rather harsh and needs time to polish.

  6. KB201 did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is only distilled during the season of the same name. Because the distillery's worm tubs are outdoors, the distillate cools faster. This gives the winter edition a lower copper influence.

  7. Candy62 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

Kept in a freezer for 24 hrs at -18 as advised. Freezing cold, thick as engine oil.
Nose: alcohol, solvent, light honey, isopropanol
Palate: opens up slowly as it gets warmer in the glass. Honey and spices.
    Finish: long, spicy and warming
When it's cold it loses a lot of flavors and fine aromas. Only 82 points cold.
Now at room temperature the texture of the whisky is similar to 15yo standard bottling , but it's spicier and not as fruity and creamy as standard Dalwhinnie.
