Unmistakably a grain! Sweet and fruity, with this grain being carried by dark and heavy fruit. Slightly tart and smoky, with the smoky being heavily exaggerated, dried grapes and berries with lots of chocolate and cinnamon. The maturation in an ex-Caperdonich Sherry Cask cannot be denied and gives this German whiskey a special note. A very successful bottling, I like it a lot!
    • Nose
Intense amber shines in the glass, a thick and oily streak adheres to the glass wall. Beguiling grain sweetness with an intense fruity note rises, chocolate and cocoa powder are added, caramelized sugar mixes with cinnamon, dried grapes and berries exude their lovely aroma. Forest honey and a hint of roasted almonds, apricots and an increasingly intense chocolate note with cinnamon and hints of rum pot. Slightly malty, wet cereal grains, bread dough and a touch of spicy wood complete the complex nose.
    • Taste
The first sip flows powerfully through the mouth, roasted grain with dark chocolate and dried berries end with a pinch of white pepper on the tongue. The tip of the tongue is massaged with pleasant spiciness, the saliva is suddenly stimulated, burnt caramel ends slightly bitter and dark chocolate was plump on the palate. Sour cherries and morello cherries appear, cinnamon tongs swim in the excited saliva under the tongue while wonderful sherry aromas emerge after another sip.
    • Finish
Raisins and sour cherries stick to the palate to be cozy and warm, chocolate plays with soaked cereal grains, a touch of furniture polish appears slightly tart, roasted hazelnuts and roasted almonds gradually herald the end of the aftertaste. The aftertaste nonetheless remains voluminous and long-lasting on the palate and gives the impression that it never fades away.
