  1. Dre73 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Powerful yet very drinkable whisky, with some nice red fruits without getting too overwhelming. Very enjoyable dram.
    • Nose
      85 85
Fruity, slightly some berries, honey, hardly any alcohol noticeable.
    • Taste
      86 86
Pretty powerful, sparkling, fruity, raisins, berries, floral. Honey, thick structure, very easy drinkable for such a pretty high Abv.
    • Finish
      86 86
Still pretty strong, fruity, red fruits, some berries, floral, at first medium long, but in team finish gets longer.

Part of an online Auchroisk tasting.
This was the winner of the evening, I will buy a bottle of this.

Crème brulee, toffee and other sweetness. Some ice-cream too.
With water some nice citrus fruits show up. Lemon and lime and some ripe oranges.
    • Taste
      87 87
Sweet and round. Good fatty mouthfeel. Doesn't need a lot of water (I tend to use a lot of water in my whisky).
With water there is more and more sweetness and cream. In the background there is the citrus again. It is a bit like eating a ice-cream with some lemonsauce.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium length. Pleasingly sour sweetness, which is quickly taken over by some toffee and fudge. Fades away a tad bitter, but not really much to worry about

  4. HammerHead scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Ow, we have a winner here. A very well balanced dram and very drinkable indeed. Tasted this for the first time yesterday evening and currently have a bottle on the shelf. Good price performance ratio as well.

Fat and creamy, vanilla butter, beeswax, cookie dough, sweet citrus, sour red currants, some dried apricot, hand creme, a note of ginger in the background.
    • Taste
      86 86
A very full and creamy mouthfeel, initially an alcoholic nip but this dram easily takes some water. Fruity on sweet and bitter citrus, lemon, grapefruit, more red currants, honey, dough, some sawdust, nutmeg and white pepper.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium to long: buttercream, honey, cookie dough, a candied sweetness, drying on spicy oak in the end. Very nice.

It's OK. No bad grades. Has light fruit in red with herbs and some iron somehow. Not bad but not formative either
