A certain potential already shimmers through here, but everything is clearly too alcoholic, downright sprittig, bitter-bitter and sour. For me, the fruit and wood notes of the barrel look more like artificial flavors.
    • Nose
      63 63
Freshly cut willow branches, anise and hyacinth sting the nose, the Pinot barrel brings raisins, dates and blood orange, all of which look artificial, like sweet vanilla rum flavor.
    • Taste
      59 59
Dry, winey-sour and quite woody-bitter pull musty walnuts, marzipan aroma, geraniums, grass and a few small dates over the palate.
    • Finish
      62 62
The dry oak is not quite as present in the finish, the artificial aromas from industrial marzipan to caramel syrup set the tone and mix briefly with grass and dill before the reverberation fades away quite quickly.

    • Nose
Fruity with a hint of licorice and anise.
    • Taste
Peat, but slightly present, the fruity and aniseed side is more apparent (nose and taste). A tiny bit of vanilla. It lacks complexity. (yeah, I know, I too lack complexity sometimes)
    • Finish
Long enough, the winey side is more present at the end of the mouth.

On the nose, the wine immediately recognizable, fresh, vinous wish! then some acidulous fruits!
In the mouth, wine, malt rather dry, almost austere, intense spices!
In the final, the drought found aromas remains on the tongue, so quite short and a little disappointing indeed!
A dram with a vine finish very different from what I usually find in Alsace!

  7. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Not as bad as I expected, has some interesting notes, nose and mouth know to score, if there was a little less alcohol taste and the finish is not completely flattened, he could get even more
    • Nose
Definitely some of (more favorable) brandy or cognac, rather the former, a constant warm, alcoholic burning, combined with a nice blend of light hazelnut, citrus notes, vanilla, sour gummy bears, sour grapes
    • Taste
Oh yes, here immediately the last two notes of the nose, extremely sour gums, sour wine, almost more reminiscent of white wine or sparkling wine than red wine, there would not be a few berry notes and raisins in between flashing again and again, wild garlic, vanilla, thin oak notes, everything with a little alcoholic aftertaste, not quite round
    • Finish
Grapes with peel and kernel, bitter, young oak, much more unfortunately not here, short to medium

N- Floral, honey, toast and nutty. Even some citrus come thru, rather complex with refine candy sweetness and cedar woods. Penetrating strength that gives a layer of young and burning notes, but no huge damage to the overall expression.

P- Toast, grilled pineapple with plenty of phenol at the back. Smokes from somewhere? Sweet raisin with sour notes sunk in. White oak linger as well tobacco. Young, although rough at the edges, but do enjoy the aggression.

F- Long, wood spicy, sweet tobacco, earthy and echoing. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

Beautiful acidulous fruits accompanied by cereals (as in the 10 years old) but accompanied by a certain minerality of the pinot noir, which fits very well in the nose. In the mouth, always the fruits obviously but drier and bitter than his companions. The wine note is very clearly identifiable. Final sweet, then bitter. Fruits in retrooling.

  10. Donwaldorf scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

This Australian Whisky was off with a very pleasant nose that makes you want to go further (like a Kavalan Vinho ...) but does not confirm in the mouth unfortunately ...
    • Nose
Initially very fruity on melon and very greedy on candy to see chewing gum ... Then once the first aromas are past, we return to classic with cereals and dried fruits.
    • Taste
Dry in the mouth with an explosion of spices, it remains overall greedy with a slight bitterness. We still smell cereals ...
    • Finish
I thought I first live a final pastry / buttered but it became quickly dry on spices ...
