Nosing failed, but it feels pretty beautiful in terms of other steps. And the waxiness and pear notes remind me of Clynelish so much!
    • Nose
      84 84
No complex picture, mainly strong young woods, white pepper, fresh pepper, some light honey, sea salt, and minerals. With a bit of water added, a noticeable waxiness is then evoked, like a citrus oil-scented candle. 84/100
    • Taste
      88 88
The palate is full of surprises, way better than the nosing! The first expression is full-bodied waxiness, thick honey, fragrant floral notes, as well as beer pear and ripe pineapple, rich vanilla and salted cream, also with a hint of oaky bitterness, damp leather, and bursts of orange peel. With a little water added, a slight lift in fruitiness happens then. 88/100
    • Finish
      86 86
Med-long; some sweet smoke, brine, dried lemon slices, cinnamon, pepper, and tobacco, with a sweet and dry finish in the mouth. 86/100

    • Nose
Green apples, lemon tarts, citrus fruits
    • Taste
White wine, waxy, well balanced, good attack on the tongue
    • Finish
      Long, sweet ash lingers

On the nose apples, oranges and paraffin, lemon cake and glue, honeyed wax and black pepper. Very waxy and creamy on the palate, with added nougat, honey and orange sponge cake, with the mineral side coming back to the fore on the finish with salt, chalk and a little bit more of that glue (which is strangely sweet and tasty). Very rich and complex.

Cataibh is Gaelic for Sutherland so I assume is a Clynelish.
