    Surprising for the label and the distillery, but finally, I realize that an 8 year old can really go in all directions whatever the decade.
    • Nose
      89 89
      We have mastic, turpentine, wax, green olive, grapeseed oil,
      A slight saline side, graphite.

      It's not unpleasant, but quite simple.
    • Taste

      In the mouth, we have a barbecue smoke in the first line, slightly meaty.
      Liquorice, turpentine, wax, pepper, dust, graphite.
      We have a little lemon zest.
    • Finish
      88 88
      Fairly short finish on pepper, fir, pinecone, sap, fleur de sel, and still this slightly meaty barbecue smoke.

    Super complex nose, you can stay there for a long time. Mouth and finish below but still very pleasant. Really impressive for an 8 year old, definitely my best so far.
    • Nose
      On the nose, light cinnamon, slightly melted wax, very light barely smoked fern, a hint of solvent, peppery. When aired, citrus and pome fruit delicately glazed with a pretty, thin layer of earthy peat. The fruits become sweeter on the slightly tangy green apple.
    • Taste
      In the mouth, smoked lemons and mandarins, sweet white pepper and peat like bandages, perfect alcohol.
    • Finish
      Warm finish, rather short, on tangerine peel which turns into a very light fragrance of flint and cold tobacco.

    Peat, lemon & a little lime on the nose and a touch of white pepper but it is a little distant., if you leave it for a time wafer notes emerge.
    This noses like a young islay so no bad thing?
    Plenty of peat & pepper on the palate which keeps any fruit firmly in the background.
    Some lemon pug biscuits emerge and the peat combines with other spices which develop into a nice mouth feel
    The finish is decent with more sweetness coming through.
    This does not rock your world but what it does show is that at only 8 years old some Springers have real potential, this is one of them.
    It is no heavyweight but it is pleasant for sure, I like it and will award it around 90 points as it is a youngster,

    Not a bad one but a bit disappointing given its pedigree, very drinkable nonetheless
