Let's face it: This is tasty very young stuff from a promising new distillery. I can see the potential. For the years to come I will have an eye on this place. Hyped first SMWS release, I am glad I got my hands on.
Smokey ashy herbal notes from the beginning. Had it in a blind tasting and first leaned towards Caol Ila or mild Kilchoman without the lemony traits.
Not overly complex but it ain't simple either. As I put it: Nice try & promising distillery.

Big, bold, and a bit tannic, this Ardnamurchan was aggressively spicy with a wonderful tobacco-herbal depth that shone even more with a few drops of water. I enjoyed how the aroma of burning grass and wood paired with subtle layers of spice. A few drops of water transformed the dram with malty molasses cookies and herbal tobacco. For my taste, the dram was a tad on the tannic side; even with water, it remained drying throughout.

Mental Image: Fire at the Cinnamon Factory
    • Nose
Wood char, spice, and salt. Burning grass fires sent the aroma of heather and ash into the air, or was that just smoke from the chopsticks I dropped into the grill? Salty-sweet notes of charred wood mixed with fish sauce, Chinese medicinal spice sachets, and cigar box. Water brought out malty molasses cookies and hints of vanilla cream.
    • Taste
Medium-bodied with pungent heady spice, tobacco, and wood char. The palate was awash with a sweet smoke carrying cinnamon, vanilla, and ginger. The combination conveyed burnt gingerbread cookies with nutty hints of candied almonds. Herbal tobacco and wood brought to mind an impressively stocked warm humidor that lingered with a subtle salt and earthiness.
    • Finish
Lingering notes of sweet spice and toasted pastries.

Promising young malt. I did not expect neither age nor the distillery while tasted in a blind tasting.
Not my style at the moment but I will keep my eyes open.

scbp-7551, the flavor is unexpectedly rich, a simple but impactful wine that is not unpredictable. The association's ability to select single barrels within 0x8 years is beyond doubt.

Slightly fleshy, alcoholic, "Sperse floral and fruity fragrance", then dispersed. The snacks have a strong sense of sweetness and sour. The snacks are hawthorn slices, hawthorn candied haws, brine, cola-flavored popping candy, artificial pineapple ice, and ice mint chewing gum. 86

The light peat begins to appear. After the baking feel is entered, the high flavor concentration directly raises the lower limit, which is the same as the smell, and the taste of the fruit is hard and saccharified. Pineapple, orange, tangerine peel, and thin salt light soy sauce build up the flavor skeleton, which has a strong irritation and serious whitening in the middle. It is closed with a bitter western medicine oral liquid. It has a strong sense of oil, strong wine power, and full flavor in some angles, but it undoubtedly does not control and fill its 60+ alcohol content. b85-p86

Burnt, burnt cake, bitter vegetables, lasting rhyme, licorice. 85

SMWS Tasting Notes: Smoky, salty and malty – a beech smoked beer with fresh lime zest, orange peel, coriander seed and a pinch of sea salt. On the palate, big on the peat smoke but nicely balanced by mixed spices, blackberries, sourdough bread and sweet potato gnocchi with samphire. With a drop of water, we could literally smell the sea with a trawler and a Clyde Puffer in the distance as well as the ferry coming from Tobermory to the slipway at Kilchoan. An amazing texture - creamy salted caramel cheesecake, homemade strawberry fruit rollups and in the long finish an exciting exotic smoky incense combined with sandalwood and coconut.
