Thanks for removing my commend / review about this Bowmore and especially my criticism about all the active "flippers" on this forum trying to give a good review to hype the Whisky for a better profit in giving obviously fake ratings. I tasted this Whisky and it's definitely not a 90+ especially considering the price. If 12.000 bottles are available and the price is going straight from 280,- Euro to 560,- Euro, something is very fishy especially if you see how the price dropped on all other over hyped bottles (like the GoT series and the other special Aston Martin edition from Bowmore). I just try to give my best warning to the community not to buy for 500,- - 600,- Euro when I clearly see that this whisky will drop in price significantly once the majority of bottles are released. Please don't remove my comment again. I only want to help the Whisky community because I care about fair and honest trading.

Dear flippers, this is so hilarious, you are fighting for the best price, but no one wants to be fair and realize that 12000 bottles is too much making one hot buying a bottle from one of you.

Have much fun, I just can laugh about you jerks. Just open it, drink it, share it

It's sad what happened to the "drink" whisky. And the great dealers all take part. Shame yourself.

The base with 61.8% is a 21-year-old Bowmore, matured in first-fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Older maturations, including a Bowmore over 35 years old, have been added for the remaining 38.2%. It will be officially presented in Germany on November 17th, 2021 and will be available from November 22nd, 2021. "

    Official Tasting Notes:

    COLOR: mahogany

AROMA: Sweet and nutty with notes of manuka honey and maple syrup, combined with pralines and grilled hazelnuts, combined with rich aromas of freshly tanned leather, cigar tobacco, licorice root, dried thyme and heather flowers.

TASTE: Noble and elegant sherry melts with raw Islay peat, while dark bitter chocolate, black pepper and caramel sauce combine with vanilla and coffee beans; Morello cherries and a hint of papaya create a fruity flair.

AFTERKLANG: Warm, sweet and spicy, with notes of oak, chestnut cream and coconut.

As long as even dealers almost double the whisky issue price ...

Wow, I didn't expect that this bottling would be of such good quality and that I would be so enthusiastic about it.
From my point of view, the vatting has done a really good job here, especially when you consider that it is a batch of 12,000 bottles. You can also tell that it also contains older parts.

For me, the tasting notes from Svenske2015 get to the point.
For my personal taste, the minimal addition of water even optimizes the whisky. At least in nosing. To be precise, only 1-2 drops per cl.

Mega design, top quality and a fair original issue price, or UPV of approx. 300 €, even if the bottle is almost impossible to get for it (Bowmore can't do anything for it), at least overall top!
I actually fluctuate between 91P-92P and leave it at 91 points for the first tasting, which he easily gets from me from the hip.

    • Nose
      88 88
Rich, delicate, cooked fruits, mint, bloody orange, very easy on the nose for the abv. We can see this is made to be enjoyed by beginners as well as specialists.
    • Taste
      90 90
The cask influence is not too much here, way more px than oloroso. Dried red fruits, vanilla, delicate smoke, cinnamon, everything you'd expect of a 20yo+ Bowmore. The sugar notes are on the milk chocolate side, not much bitterness there. Smooth, precise and well balanced. Very versatile, the pure blood might not like this but, i was expecting this from a distinct marketing edition.
    • Finish
      89 89
Light but flavorful, earthy notes from the smoke are coming out, less red fruits, more plummy. Could get a little bit more spicyness but hey, ita very decent. Very good edition despite all the marketinf, at least theyve bottled this with a real abv.

ashy, lightly peated, creamy, milk powder, dried fruits, muddy, coffee beans,
at the beginning a bit alcohol punchy after some time in the glass the sherry notes resides and fresh wood notes are more prominent
viscous, spices, ash, flower notes, mineral notes, oily, dried fruits
long, mineral, earthy peat, again oily and creamy, char maybe, soot, dark chocolate had coffee grounds

Overall this is very pleasant and balanced dram. Although the WB description it's declared as first fill sherry, the sherry influence is not dominant as one wouuld expect for a 21 y old fully sherried mature whisky. It has a beautiful nose and a very long finish, but lacks some body on the palate. We find the flower note on the palate a bit off-putting, but this merely a subjective observation.

    Score: Very firm 7/10
not taking the price into account

The whisky basically consists of a 21-year-old Bowmore matured in first fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. The remaining parts of the whisky are, in exact proportion to each other, composed of an exceptional Bowmore that has been matured for over 35 years.

    Aston Martin

At the end of last year, Bowmore entered into a partnership with Aston Martin, the well-known British car brand. The series consists of a 10-year-old in a green box, a 15-year-old in a white box and an 18-year-old in a blue box and then this 21-year-old Masters Selection in a luxury package. Looks good and may taste fine, but when the original retail price of about 300 EUR results in not appearing on the shelf of the store and immediately ending up in the auction for double the price, then there is no fun to be had. Fortunately, my buddy Manny was able to help me with a sample, so that I can still taste this beautiful release.

The nose is darkly sweet and rich. Quite aromatic on raisins and coffee, with a touch of ashes that pops out. Furthermore, some blood orange and mint, hazelnuts, dry wood and chewing tobacco. Surprisingly soft for this ABV. Very nice nose, I must say.

Great mouthfeel. The fruit now leads with orange and plums in the lead, followed by dried red fruits and nuts. The sherry is nicely balanced with the spirit. Slightly mineral, touch of moulded wood, ashes again, but at the same time deliciously sweet. Milk chocolate, cherry liqueur and a soft, pleasant bitterness. The smoke development starts somewhat slowly, but grows with each sip.

The finish is long, with a lot of earthy notes and peat, ashes and even some soot. But the chocolate and coffee get the last word.

Very beautiful Bowmore that digested its long stay in the sherry casks well. Thank you for the sample, Manny!
