The efforts of the blender are noted, below. Something seems to have gone wrong with all the best intentions. There is a respectable nose, but.... It gets a B- for balance as an HP to me. This seems like a distinct $75 OB HP 15 dressed up in ceramic.
    • Nose
      86 86
Welch concord grape juice, honey, butterscotch, ethanol, just cured leather, slight creosote, tobacco...
    • Taste
      82 82
Redeeming apricot, honey, butterscotch, then descending too quickly into what follows, below. Orkney smoke and black pepper oak. Note that it difficult to distinguish the body from the finish.
    • Finish
      79 79
whether body or finish is a bit indiscernible, but somewhat astringent stone and tropical fruit with a bitter sour synergy like ascorbic/ethanol paired with a descending amalgam of drying black pepper oak and slight tobacco snuff notes that endure.

  3. Whisky1420 scored this whisky 100 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
Brown sugar, orange oil, cinnamon and a soft waft of peat
    • Taste
Heather honey, vanilla, treacle, lemon and smoke
    • Finish
      Spicy cinnamon and smoky embers

For calibration, to be able to compare this novelty from the distillery, I used Highland Park 16 YO Twisted Tattoo.
Unfortunately, I am surprised not so much by the taste, aroma and finish, but by the rather exorbitant price. To give me around € 100 for a whisky, I could expect something more. The aroma, muted, not very visible, the taste - a little better. Finisz was the coolest and in line with my expectations. Long, rich, creamy and leaves a pleasant sensation long after tasting.
Whisky 16 YO Twisted Tattoo, despite the lower price, seemed more mature and characteristic to me.
Maybe today was not the day to taste the new 15 YO from Highland Park. After all, I will try to find in it what I have not noticed so far, until I finally find it.
    • Nose
      83 83
sweet, vanilla, apples, raisins, a bit of smoke, slightly dusty
    • Taste
      83 83
sponge cake, pineapple, lemon peel, honey, young oak
    • Finish
      86 86
long, sweet, smooth, creamy, slightly spicy at the end with a chocolate aftertaste, honey bitterness and a delicate hint of raspberry juice.

Unfortunately, a nice bottle design doesn't make the contents any better either.
