    • Nose
      86 86
Nice cask influence overshadowing the immaturity of distillate. Smoked wood, almond, dark chocolate, raisin, but still spirity and sharp on nose. orange peel, crystalised sugar, cinamon, oaky. Yeasty and more citrus after decanting. rich and dolce in general.
    • Taste
      85 85
med body with rich flavour, but you can still tell the youthfulness. Sugary sweet, good texture that is slightly oily. Salted caramel, wood spices, gingers, balanced by bitterness. Peppery spicy mouth feel under which the lemony freshness surfaced. Rich almond with dried cranberries sourness, leather, chocolaty.
    • Finish
      84 84
A hint of cloves and fennels, toffee, lightly woody but clear ginger and cinamon.

Nose: The fragrance is very weak. When you think you want to smell the fragrance, the alcohol will pour into your nose and knock you down. To confirm again, there are some Chinese black teas, roasted nuts, and of course some hints of dark berries. But it seems to need more time, so I decided to add water. After waiting for a while, I still chose to give up. The disappointing expressiveness and single flavor. I'm really sorry, the score will be very low.

Drink: Spicy, in addition to the burning sensation of alcohol, there are also peppers, and the end rhyme is bitter. I can't find any flavor. I can't imagine what it would be like to drink it without adding water.

Overall: The strange thing is that I can't find the flavor and experience of the original malt wine at all, only the characteristics of Port Cask, and the alcohol feel that makes you three steps back. I tasted the 30 ml Sample with 1920 Blended's.

    official information
    Port Matured Single Casks

We’ve been waiting patiently for the optimum moment to release our delicious port casks. They’ve taken a little longer than some of our other casks, but we’re excited to announce that it’s now time…

Our tawny port casks were sourced from the Duoro Valley in Portugal – the birthplace of port, where wine has been made for over two thousand years.

Unlike younger ‘ruby’ port, tawny takes on its alluring amber hue from the additional time that it has spent in wood. This longer maturation allows for controlled oxidation and increased esterification and produces a wine that has a lean silky texture and a notably long finish.

Bimber’s tawny port casks are amongst our oldest, having been left to mature for an extended time to ensure the perfect marriage with our distinctive London spirit.

Ex-Port Cask #43- has been bottled at a cask strength of 58.4%ABV. There are 291 bottles available. 95£
