Enjoyment Booster Tasting - Scotch Universe - 2021/4
Pegasus VII (Ledaig), FF Ruby Port Barrique, 10y, 59.8%

    Color: rose gold
Nose: greasy smoky note, forest fruits, caramel, wood
    Body: medium / oily
Mouth: some alcohol, perfect balance between the greasy smoke / ash note and the red forest fruits.
Finish: long, mild, sweet, light red berries, caramel and long-lasting dry ash notes
Conclusion: 90P., My clear winner in the comparative tasting of the SU bottlings (Q1 / 2021), wonderful sweet aromas from the Ruby Port Cask mixed with the typically greasy smoky notes of Ledaig whiskys.

The nose starts out relatively alcoholic but still creamy and fruity like strawberries and cassis. Behind it is a slightly sour vinegar note. The typical Ledaig cowshed smoky note is only discreetly behind it. Compared to the "Pegasus A" a shade darker.

In the mouth it unleashes fireworks of sweet and sour fruitiness, pepper and some ash. In the finish there is a chocolate oak note, some ash and a maritime sea breeze.
    Length: 6/10

Great, intense, fruity and ashy island paint that is still a bit rough and youthful. In comparison with the "Pegasus A" very similar but a bit darker, sharper and smokier.
    Probably a Ledaig.

    Grade: 2+

The typical Pegasus nose can also be found here.
      Smoke, red fruits, sweetness, protwein
    • Taste
      85 85
At the beginning: smoke, lots of sweetness, port wine, red fruits and a slight spiciness.
A little later, the strength increases, the malt becomes significantly hotter.
I liked that better with the predecessors
    • Finish
      86 86
The sweetness and the smoke remain, as does the spiciness. Quite long.

Ledaig with Ruby port finish, lovely stuff, such a fragrant nose!
